The first post-release patch for NBA 2K17 has gone live on PlayStation 4 and will be arriving soon on Xbox One. It's a massive download coming in at 7.1 GB so what's been done is considerable and affects gameplay and the various franchise and online modes. Observations of fixes so far include substitutions made during timeouts (players enter immediately instead of having to wait for the next dead ball situation) and the courts for the Knicks and Bucks. What it hasn't done is completely s...

In Rumble there are 11 power-ups that randomly appear including The Boot (kicks opponent’s car), Disruptor (forces opponent to drive uncontrollably), Freezer (freezes the ball in-place), Plunger (Grabs ball via plunger and cord), and Tornado (sweep up ball and opposing cars into a giant funnel cloud). Additionally the free patch...

While Madden NFL 17 launched relatively cleanly there was one significant bug which gave users the ability to tell whether the opposing offense was in a run or a pass play. That provided an edge against the CPU while severely affecting the online play experience. The first patch for Madden NFL 17 went live today and it fixes that issue. Pulling up the play art will no longer provide an indication of whether the offense will be running or passing. Other changes made include fixing a bug...

While the wait for the first Madden NFL 17 patch continues (it should be out very soon) one area where EA Sports received feedback has already been acted upon with a tuning update today. Today's tuning update: A reduction in the effectiveness of the strip ball mechanic. Should be less fumbles. Let us know what you think.— Rex Dickson (@RexDEAFootball) August 29, 2016 The frequency of fumbles has been a topic of discussion ever since Madden went live through EA Access. Thoug...

One of the most pleasant surprises of the year came back in March with the release of Casey Powell Lacrosse 16. The game represents a solid introduction of the sport for a new generation. It's another recent example of non-traditional sports games making their way back to relevance in the last few years due to the work of independent developers. Today a significant patch was released to provide a number of improvements to the game. Additions in the update include a camera switch option ...
  • The Chemistry problem affecting high value cards in FIFA Ultimate Team will be patched
    by
    Posted July 3rd, 2016 at 1:15 pm 2 Comments »
Last week what was long suspected by some was finally verified. Some of the most sought-after players in FIFA Ultimate Team were not playing up to their ratings given that the Chemistry boosts were not being applied to them. That meant lower rated and cheaper player cards could actually be better performers on the pitch. With a mode that generates hundreds of millions each year for EA Sports that is obviously a massive issue and has called into question the integrity Ultimate Team. We d...

A new patch went out for EA Sports UFC 2 today that added three more fighters to the roster. That makes it 12 total that have been added post-release to what was an already immense roster when it first came out in March. The fighter most fans were hoping would make it in, with return of Brock Lesnar for his UFC 200 bout on July 9, unfortunately is not one of them.
