    The patches for Madden 09 and NFL Head Coach 09 have been in certification testing with Microsoft and Sony for some time now so here is the latest on where we are at with those. (Updated) Madden 09 will be receiving its second patch at 5am ET on Tuesday morning. It should be arriving for both the 360 and PS3.     Details on items that have been fixed with the second patch for Madden 09 are the topic of a brand new blog posted by producer Ian Cummings on the Madden 09 website. Included are the disconnects that have been plaguing online, franchise progression, fixed exploits including the WR Direct Snap and Deep Ball glitches, field degradation, and gameplay improvements.     NFL Head Coach 09 producer Josh Looman has confirmed that a patch will be coming for the game via a post on the official forum. The patch is still being worked on which essentially would put it at least a month away from going live. Among the issues being addressed are the two widely seen as the biggest, that is the play creator bug within career mode that led to injuries never healing and the ability to call plays during a two minute drill.   • NCAA Football 09 Patch #2 Out Now

    The second (and final) patch for NCAA Football 09 has gone live for the Xbox 360 and should be following for the PS3 in the near future. This patch addresses some gameplay improvements, fixes to different areas of the game such as the sliders, and the addition of being able to view online dynasties on EA Sports World.     The patch that was expected around release time for Madden 09 has now gone out for both the 360 and PS3. The 360 received the patch early this morning while the PS3 has had it for the last couple days. The list of what was addressed in this patch can be found below. 1.     Madden 09 producer Phil Frazier has revealed the details of the first patch for the game which is expected to be available on or around the release date of August 12th, as well as some potential areas to be addressed by a second patch and ideas for downloadable content.     The complete list of what is being fixed in the second patch is now available thanks to producer Adam Thompson. This patch is expected to be submitted to MS/Sony today which means it could potentially arrive before September if things go smoothly.     A patch for NCAA Football 09 to fix editing issues is on the way. The expected time for the patch to go live is 5-10 days from now according to a producer post on Operation Sports. To make this time frame it would appear that Microsoft and Sony would be giving the certification of this patch priority.     Madden 09 producers Phil Frazier and Ian Cummings stated earlier this evening that a patch that would add a feature (something that has not been done by Tiburon before) is going to be attempted. The feature which they are hoping to patch in is accelerated clock. The patch process is a lengthy one, so even if they started working on it now there is no guarantee that it would be ready by the time the game launched.
