The post-release support for MLB 12: The Show has become a comedy of errors as now another has arrived creating additional problems. An earlier patch caused freezes for some ongoing Franchise and Road to the Show careers and broke the much ballyhooed cross-platform play between the PS3 and Vita. The latest patch that was pushed live over the weekend is causing trouble once again with seasons and careers in progress.  (more...)...

Yesterday brought first news on the patch for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13, set to arrive tomorrow, that will offer an alternative method of swinging with Kinect for Xbox 360. Now EA Sports has rolled out the complete list of fixes to expect. Problems with features such as GameFace, broken Live Weather, and general freezing issues appear to have gone unaddressed however. It's also unclear why only the 360 is getting this update right now and whether a similar one is in the pipeline for the PS...
  • Tiger Woods 13 Patch to Offer Alternate Method of Utilizing Kinect

In an update for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 13 that will arrive on Friday EA Sports will be delivering the more traditional way to swing with Kinect for Xbox 360. Tiger 13 originally chose to go with a parallel stance to the TV rather than facing it directly while swinging - which in theory was to better capture the full body in the process. The patch will allow users to swing either way on the two lower difficulty levels whether standing to the side or swinging directly towards the screen. Kotaku...

When the patch for MLB 12: The Show released last week it was noted that there were many reports coming in of pre-existing Franchises and Road to the Show careers being unable to advance due to freezes. More about the issue is known now along with another major feature - cross platform saves between the PS3 and Vita - being affected by the problem. (more...)...

It took longer than previous years to get the first patch for MLB 12: The Show but as of this morning it has arrived! The patch includes a fix to start times for games in Franchise mode (unlike MLB 09 a restart of Franchise/Road to the Show will not be required) the success of outfielders being able to throw out runners at first base on base hits will be greatly reduced, and teams will now wear their correct alternate jerseys on appropriate days. It's most notable that the new structure f...
  • MLB 12: The Show Patch Support Tracking Well Behind Past Years

Now into April with the baseball season fully underway many consumers have begun to ask why the first patch for MLB 12: The Show has yet to arrive. It's an understandable question considering the rate at which patches have been delivered for The Show in recent years. SCEA has yet to comment on plans for post-release support and have been careful to avoid even stating that a patch is being worked on. There shouldn't be reason for concern at this stage however. Undoubtedly one is in the pipel...

  • MLB 2K12 Patch Won’t Arrive Before May

While 2K Sports is collecting feedback for an upcoming patch of MLB 2K12, which undoubtedly has a multitude of issues to consider, the company has publicly stated not to expect it to come until at least May. The explanation behind that comes down to 2K not wanting to alter the game during the month in which the $1 Million Perfect Game Challenge takes place. That makes sense from the standpoint that changing 2K12 in any way could disrupt players who have tried to get handle on the game pr...

For several weeks many consumers of NBA 2K12 on the PS3 have had difficulties in getting the game to a load up completely and advance to the main menu - instead being met by a game freeze when the saved settings would attempt to load. A workaround, to delete game files, seemed to allow access to the game in the meantime though even that didn't work for everyone and frustration from those locked out completely from playing NBA 2K12 had been building. Yesterday an update was released on the...
