  • What Has Your Experience Been Thus Far With NBA 2K15?
    by
    Posted October 13th, 2014 at 12:00 pm 27 Comments »
NBA 2K15 has been out for nearly a week now and there's a lot it does exceptionally well. Unfortunately it is also hampered by widespread server problems that affect nearly the whole game not just online modes and other issues like many have had with the face scanning feature. The experience then will vary from person to person depending on where time is being spent. There's a big difference for those playing the offline MyLeague mode vs those who bought the game to play MyTeam or MyPark ...
  • What Are You Most Looking Forward To With NBA 2K15?

Unlike most sports games as of late a lot of work has gone into the modes of NBA 2K15. While it appears it'll release in a couple days without having gameplay improvements detailed, which is certainly unusual, there is no shortage of content to anticipated in the product. Whether it's the addition of MyLeague, new storyline for MyCareer and face-scanning for your MyPlayer, changes to MyGM, additions to MyTeam, expansion of The Park, or simply the pulling back of the influence Virtual C...
  • Your Thoughts on the FIFA 15 Demo
    by
    Posted September 11th, 2014 at 10:45 am 12 Comments »
After an unexplained delay in getting out for PS4 the FIFA 15 demo is now available on all platforms. It released Monday night on Xbox One, Tuesday for 360/PS3/PC, and Wednesday on PS4. It features eight clubs with matches set to four minute halves and some pre-set squads to use in feeling out Ultimate Team. The FIFA 15 demo has left the strongest impression on me since the UFC 2009 demo. So much was seen and felt, in such a condensed period of time, that the game shined in a way that isn...

With the bad news about NHL 15 on XB1/PS4 finally being confirmed yesterday - make sure to read about it here and check out the lengthy hangout discussing the situation here - consumers can now begin to properly assess whether the product is worth buying this year. Fans of the series and EA Sports Hockey League in particular have gone through a roller coaster of emotions in the last week, with EA Sports turning what should have just been immense disappointment into anger based on their m...

    by
    Posted July 2nd, 2014 at 12:00 pm 14 Comments »
EA Sports officially announced the Ultimate Editions of Madden NFL 15, NHL 15, and FIFA 15 this week - though the details on them had been posted three weeks earlier by retailers. For $10 over the standard price consumers will receive up to $40 in Ultimate Team content. They'll only get the full value of that however by sticking through the 10 weeks (Madden), 25 weeks (NHL), and 40 weeks (FIFA) in which the packs will be distributed. This is the first time the company has attempted to lev...
  • NHL 15 Exits E3 In Strengthened Position; PGA Tour Sunk By Its Appearance

While E3 last week predictably offered no bombshells EA Sports rolled out the first looks at four upcoming titles and offered some additional information on each. Nearly 4,000 voters chimed in on each poll that was posted following the event regarding the games that most and least impressed them with their showings.  (more…)...
  • What Game Moved Anticipation Wise Up or Down Most From E3 Showings?
    by

In what was a relatively uneventful E3, EA Sports pushed its slate of upcoming titles by focusing mostly on the fundamentals instead of hyperbole. Madden NFL 15, FIFA 15, NHL 15, and PGA Tour all debuted new trailers, appeared at the Electronic Arts press conference, and had additional feature details released. Madden went heavy on defense accompanied by some gimmicky visual indicators and new cameras. There was also info on aspects like QB accuracy finally mattering and long overdue pres...
  • What Recently Announced NHL 15 Feature Are You Most Excited About?
    by
    Posted May 13th, 2014 at 9:00 am 4 Comments »
The first details along with a teaser trailer were released for NHL 15 last week. While much more is expected out of E3 next month and throughout the summer, some significant features were revealed and some of them may be at least partially attributed to not having rushed out a version on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 last fall. Overhauling presentation and commentary are projects that some other sports franchises have shied away from doing. Instead NHL will be bringing in Doc Emrick and Edd...
  • Who Would You Want To Replace Steve Kerr on the NBA 2K Commentary Team?
    by
    Posted May 2nd, 2014 at 1:30 pm 50 Comments »
That Steve Kerr is going to be strongly considered for head coach of the New York Knicks is beyond just rumor at this point. Should he take a coaching position there or somewhere else he'll obviously be out as an announcer in the NBA 2K series which he has been a part of since 2K12. That change could be happening right now or more likely to be a year away but the switch would be inevitable. He would not be available to do additional voiceover work and it would be really awkward to have hi...
  • How Important is the EA Sports UFC Demo?
    by
    Posted April 24th, 2014 at 3:15 pm 9 Comments »
EA Sports recently publicized that a demo for the launch of their new UFC series on June 17 will be out prior to release. With the stigma of the THQ series still lingering to an extent it will be a significant moment in determining how well the title will end up being received. Though EA has been actively promoting it going all the way back to last year's E3 they've yet to show any gameplay footage or even explain the controls. It has become difficult to determine how demos for yearly spo...
