  • Your Thoughts on Potential Interest in Unlicensed Football Games
    Posted March 18th, 2015 at 12:30 pm 24 Comments »
It's been nearly five years since a console football game last released that didn't carry with it NFL and NFLPA licensing. Backbreaker in 2010 followed All Pro Football 2K8 from 2007 and neither received a sequel. The last truly successful unlicensed game was Blitz: The League which came out in 2005. The limited market, greater development costs, and higher consumer expectations have made projects such as those increasingly difficult to justify and stay alive beyond the conceptual process. ...

With under four weeks until release it seems the most appropriate time to gauge where people stand on buying MLB 15: The Show. Previous polls have been held to determine whether features have swayed decisions on buying, how important the "Legends" are to prospective consumers, and anticipation levels for the announced features. This poll is meant to wrap everything up, as there has now been plenty of gameplay through live streams and all the features detailed, and get a feel for how inte...

  • Your Thoughts on Legends in MLB 15
    Posted February 12th, 2015 at 10:30 am 9 Comments »
Back in December a poll was posted to gauge interest in the features announced at the time for MLB 15: The Show. The option that received by far the weakest support - only 2% of the vote - was the addition of 30 "legends" to the game. Limiting it to one representative from each franchise meant there would probably be some level of dissatisfaction about who was selected. In future years when more are added that should subside. While most teams have a a true "legend" there are handful that ...

SCEA expanded upon the initial feature announcements for MLB 15: The Show with a complete list of additions and improvements last week. In an earlier poll respondents cited the improvements to graphics and loading times as the most anticipated aspects of the upcoming game. That may be different now that much more is known about the product. Vote in the poll (up to three options) and leave your thoughts in the comments - what new feature or improvement are you most looking forward to? ...
  • End of Year Community Awards: Best Sports Game of 2014
    Posted January 6th, 2015 at 3:00 pm 5 Comments »
The voting for various categories in the Pastapadre Community Awards concludes with Best Sports Game. This will be the sixth year that the community will name a Sports Game of the Year. Previous winners have been MLB 13: The Show (2013), NBA 2K13 (2012), FIFA 12 (2011), NBA 2K11 (2010), and Madden NFL 10 (2009). No game stood head and shoulders above the pack this year - and they all sure had their fair share of issues and deficiencies - but strong arguments can be made for five of the h...

The voting for various categories in the Pastapadre Community Awards continues with Best New or Non-Yearly Sports Game. This is a category that awarded no one in 2013 sadly - because there were none to consider - but in 2014 a few risks were taken and strong efforts emerged. The Golf Club, Super Mega Baseball, and EA Sports UFC vie for the award. (more…)...
