IGN and Gamespot have posted the first hands-on previews for Backbreaker. The Euphoria driven football game is slated to release on May 18th and this is the first opportunity the media outlets have had to actually play the game. Gamespot: Camera angles aside, developers are aiming to make Backbreaker an easy game to pick up and play. IGN: The actual football itself hadn't changed all that much in the last year, which is surprising given the amount of time Backbreaker has been in hiding. The...

From the time the demo for MLB 2K10 was released I've been keeping notes, some of which I've been posting to Twitter along the way. I've compiled my thoughts and observations here and will just stream them out. I've also included another two HD videos of a demo play through. Overall based on the demo MLB 2K10 is going to offer a much cleaner and more rewarding experience than previous iterations. There are a number of issues though, some of which won't be properly evaluated until the comple...

After a lengthy process my first HD videos of the MLB 2K10 demo are now live. The recording is one of the first times I played through and it was 3am so there are a few quirks. For example there is a stretch where I throw three or four consecutive wild pitches not realizing I was doing the changeup motion instead of the fastball motion. Also I started rushing things near the end of the second video as I was trying to complete the demo within the 10 minute time limit placed on uploads. I'm cont...
  • MLB 2K10 vs 2K9 Comparison Trailer

    Posted February 22nd, 2010 at 7:43 pm 48 Comments »
2K Sports has released a trailer that attempts to show off the differences between MLB 2K10 and MLB 2K9. Included are graphical improvements, fixed stadium advertising, some of the common glitches in 2K9, new collision detection, the simplified pitching, and the new batting camera angle. While it does a good job of displaying these things in just a single minute the issues in 2K9 were not realized in the pre-release videos, communicated in the previews, or even spotted much in the demo. So it ...

  • Trailer for MLB 10: The Show

SCEA has released the official trailer for MLB 10: The Show which mixes game footage with real MLB video footage and commentary. A trailer such as this isn't intended to communicate much about game or show how it'll be when its actually played but instead bring out the emotion of the sport from watching it and get people jacked about picking up the game. The website advertised at the end doesn't appear to exist yet though which is odd considering the game is just over three weeks out from rele...
  • MLB 10: The Show Real Time Presentation

SCEA has released another new blog for MLB 10: The Show this time detailing the real time presentation that has been added for this year. Rather than just talk about the concept behind it they've done something interesting by creating a video that shows via picture-in-picture what is seen while playing the game up against the live production camera that is used for this presentation style. From the pitcher toeing the rubber until the next batter walks up to the dish, you’ll experience cont...
