  • Full details on Road to the Show changes in MLB The Show 18
    by
Posted March 8th, 2018 at 10:30 am No Comments »
While Road to the Show in MLB The Show has become stagnant over the years the career mode has remained compelling for many because it has always executed the basics well and the structure has simply been a natural fit for baseball. Last year a documentary style presentation was added to bring in some story elements but it wasn't the dramatic change that some other sports games have made turning their career modes into story modes. For MLB The Show 18 there again won't be a shift to a stor...

This week the promotion for MLB The Show 18 is centered on Road to the Show, and while the blog that was to detail the improvements for this year is overdue to arrive (was scheduled to be out yesterday) there is a video that has been released going over the basics. There isn't too much new to glean from the trailer with the exception of what would appear to be progression taking on a more results-oriented approach. Previously mentioned changes for RTTS that will be gone into more later this ...
  • Third entry in The Golf Club series to release later this year
    by
Posted February 27th, 2018 at 5:45 pm No Comments »
The Golf Club is a two-time winner of the PCA for Best Non-Yearly Sports Game (2014, 2017) but with the announcement today that the next edition in the series will release in the July-September quarter of 2018 it'll be losing its eligibility in that category to the probably delight of fans. Golf games, and unlicensed games or those that don't have significant roster turnover in general, have really struggled in recent years selling themselves to the marketplace without extended layoffs b...

It's Diamond Dynasty week for MLB The Show 18 and the news begins with the primary features and improvements being laid out in a new video. Earlier promotional weeks centered on gameplay, features, and presentation. New this year is a flexible Program system, attributes ratings that can well exceed 100, collectible souvenirs, created player progression tied to position specific programs, and 30 new legends. Maybe somewhat surprising though is there's no mention of anything to do with mak...
