The Line Drive is a weekly collection of news, links, and updates that didn’t necessarily warrant their own postings.

• I was a guest on The Madden Voice last week talking about, of course, Madden 11. This was before I had the full game but most of what was discussed was more general direction of the series and expectations. • New NBA 2K11 blog goes over AI improvements to both offense and defense.

• In EA’s financial report just out for the last quarter it still has Fight Night Champion set for a Q4 release (January-March). No official release date though has been set.

• TechCrunch has a video discussing and showing off the iPad version of Madden 11. Check out its GameFlow which displays the play that called while still on the decision screen providing the opportunity to go into the full playbook if you don’t like it.

• If you’re in the area check out a Madden tournament being held in Compton on the 21st to help collect canned goods for the Salvation Army.
