In a somewhat surprising announcement today Oregon State running back Jacquizz Rodgers has decided he will enter the NFL Draft. Rodgers finishes his career as the school’s second leading rusher all-time with 3877 yards, 46 TDs, and 19 games where he went for over 100 yards. He is also a very good receiver having caught 151 passes. The only concern is his size and durability at the next level.

Rodgers could be compared to Dexter McCluster who was a running back coming out of college but transitioned to receiver and has contributed on special teams as a returner. Rodgers could also become an ideal third down or change of pace back. McCluster was drafted early in the second round. Rodgers is currently projected to go in the same area but it will depend on what team has the specific vision for how to utilize him and how he does in the combine and workouts that could push him a little higher or drop him to the third round.
