The All-Star Weekend content for NBA 2K13 is finally being made available to those who didn’t obtain the game in early October when codes were provided from some retailers with pre-orders. Arriving on XBLA and PSN on Tuesday the All-Star Weekend pack will go for $5 and includes the All-Star Game, Slam Dunk Contest, 3 Point Shootout, and Rising Stars Challenge. Once downloaded those events also become part of Association and MyCareer modes.

Though the contracts can vary in most cases pre-order incentive content involves 45 or 60 day exclusivity windows in order to establish the value of those offers. After that time expires the publisher can offer the content through other means. In this case 2K Sports decided to hold it for three months and the reasoning why is unclear. Once it wasn’t offered earlier the assumption became that it would be pushed out closer to the actual All-Star Weekend, in order to take advantage in terms of promotion, but instead it arrives in a time of decreased relevancy with well over a month until the mid-February league showcase takes place.
