The Netflix original series House of Cards has just been released and can be viewed through the Instant Video service. All 13 episodes of the first season have been posted and can be watched immediately – each episode cost over $3 million to produce. House of Cards stars Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright and is directed by David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club, Benjamin Button, The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo). A remake of the 1990 BBC miniseries but shifting to the American political landscape, Spacey is House Majority Whip Francis Underwood, who gets passed over for the Secretary of State position and decides to hatch a plan to bring down the President.

The first episode is actually available to watch even for non-subscribers. The show is so good though that after doing so you’ll want to pony up the $8 for a month and run through it all.

“A ruthless Congressman, Francis Underwood, and his ambitious wife Claire, will stop at nothing to conquer everything. This wicked political drama slithers through the back halls of greed, sex, love and corruption in modern D.C.”
