Gal Gadot Cast as Wonder Woman in Batman vs Superman

Earlier rumored to be included in the sequel to Man of Steel, which does not have an official title but is currently being referred to as Batman vs Superman, it is now confirmed that Wonder Woman will make an appearance. Gal Gadot (Fast & Furious 4/5/6) has been cast in the role.
Director Zack Snyder with the announcement: “Wonder Woman is arguably one of the most powerful female characters of all time and a fan favorite in the DC Universe. Not only is Gal an amazing actress, but she also has that magical quality that makes her perfect for the role. We look forward to audiences discovering Gal in the first feature film incarnation of this beloved character.”
It is expected that Wonder Woman will appear without having a back story explained, and later get an origin film of her own. Batman vs Superman is slated for release on July 17, 2015.
