Anchorman 2 Re-Releasing With New Jokes

Originally released in December, Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues has grossed nearly $170 million worldwide. It’ll have a second version in theaters for a one week run starting February 28 with an all new cut that includes 763 alternate jokes.

Director Adam McKay tossed the idea around several months ago.

We did so much improv on this one that we can literally replace every single joke in the movie and put in alt scenes and alt improv runs…I think the editor’s working on it right now, with 250 new jokes…I think it would be really funny to put it in theaters for midnight showings. I know that I personally, if I loved a movie and someone told me that, like if ‘Airplane!’ had been released with all-new jokes, I’d be like, ‘you’ve got to be fucking kidding me!’ I’d see it in a second.

Essentially it’s the same movie just with different takes for the scenes that include jokes and improvisation that didn’t make it into the first official cut for the film. A list of theaters where the new version of Anchorman 2 can be found will be up on it’s official website soon. Below is the brand new trailer.
