HB Studios has provided an update on the status of The Golf Club and its upcoming console release on Xbox One and PlayStation 4. The game is just about ready to be submitted to Microsoft and Sony for certification. That process generally takes 2-3 weeks and once complete the game would then receive a firm release date. Should all go smoothly, and it clear the testing process with both first parties, a release at the end of the month or early August is a fair expectation. Rejection for any reason which would require fixes to be made and then subsequent resubmittal would obviously delay that optimistic outlook.

The Golf Club has been available through Steam Early Access since mid-April and has received a number of updates since. The console release had been pegged for fall but was pushed back to summer when it became obvious it would miss that window. Without licensing or an event to coincide with the company has the freedom to release it whenever they desire and has chosen to continue to put work into the product rather than rush it out and follow that up with patches to address initial issues discovered by consumers.
