Disney has officially announced that Toy Story 4 is on the way! The Pixar franchise will return 7 years after it was thought to be complete and 22 years after it began with a release date already set for June 16, 2017. The series has raked in over $1.8 billion at the box office worldwide and it’s even more valuable considering the lucrative merchandising and other tie-ins.
John Lasseter will direct – he helmed the first two Toy Story films before handing the third off to Lee Unkrich. The screenplay will be handled by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. The pair wrote the 2012 dramedy Celeste and Jesse Forever.
