First College Hoops 2K8 gameplay videos and Legacy mode preview

I’m sorry, but wow….this game just looks so terrible. Even the practice mode…looks like a waste of time. Something you’ll do once or twice and then simulate for the rest of the season. I’m getting MM08, but I like to see competition. Hopefully that was just an early build. 2K fans…let the hate begin!

I liked the vid. To me, I like college more than NBA so I would use the practice mode to improve my players. I know MM is going to be as well. This year is the year of basketball. With Live coming back to form and 2K being solid wow. Now we have CHoops and MM. I cant wait til these come out. I will get Choops because you can import your players.

haha…let the hate begin…last yr college 2k7 was easily the best hoops game in years….i like the spacing on the floor….if its anything like nba2k8 it should be great

i can proudly say after seeing those vids that march madness 08 will finally be better then college hoops.. i always get 2k games just cause there the closest to real life but come on 2k sports that looks dead like last years game and i wouldnt waste 60$ on that.. wouldnt even waste 30 dollars on it, and if i got it for free probably wouldnt even play it

College hoops 2k8 is simply a better game. Just like
nba 2k8 is better then live08. just because live wasn’t a complete clusterf*ck this year does not make it competition.
March Madness purchasers, enjoy importing you players to… nothing.

Keep hoping for next year EA fans like you do every year when you buy an ea game. I’ll be enjoying now.

Well … Both MM and 2k8 are looking like complete crap in the vids that have been posted of them. I hope the demos/games look a LOT better or I might be a sad panda

I have both MM07 and 2K7 and im sorry (well im really not) but 2K7 CH was plain old garbage. The only good feature about it was the create-a-chant feature. I’m telling, 2K fans in denial. I gave all basketball games a chance last year. I personally don’t care about importing players. If there was a superstar mode, then maybe I would care. But why would I care about generated players making it into NBA Live if there are no superstar modes in basketball games? Makes sense in Madden. I’ll give it to you, 2K7 was light years above Live…but MM07 was the best basketball game last year..all around. 2K has better in game animations…that’s what kills me about these fan boys. Now I know I’m going to classified as a EA fan boy, I go with whatever game works the best. Just like in 2002 I hated Live so I got 2K2 and then Live got back on track. I tolerated Live 06 on the 360 because there were tons of people online playing it. Live 07…..by far the worst bball game ever made…it took Playmaker’s Sliders in order to make the game tolerable. Now with Live 08 + Playmaker’s sliders…this game is probably the best one I’ve ever played. I was considering getting 2K8 but after playing the demo…my stomach turned. It’s fulled with so many on court animations …yet feels like your playing on roller skates..and players running like they got to run to the bathroom…and the graphics…they are just plain garbage. I laugh whenver someone comments on their graphics being good. 2K capatilzed on the EA’s compliacency…however they put out a garbage product. Let’s see what other animation gimmics 2K puts in their game…maybe fighting with fans in the stands? THAT’s REAL BASKETBALL!

Graphically EA takes the cake on the b-ball games thats without a doubt but when comes down to gameplay and real life meets virtual the 2k games win that battle. The 2k b-ball games are just more fun to play. The EA b-ball games are pure eye candy. Live 08 is missing a lot of signature styles and thats if they have any. 2K08 does not look as good when it comes down to player faces but the bodies of the players look better than last years game. Basically you have to pick your poison you either want beautiful graphics over subpar gameplay or subpar graphics over excellent gameplay. Me personally, I choose the gameplay cause the visual get old after a while but the game play is what makes a game fun. So EA needs to get their gameplay on point and 2k needs to get there graphics straight and then we will see who has the best game but for now fro me 2k has the edge

2K’s game play is overrated. Been overrated. That is real basketball? I’m sorry, but those animation gimmicks don’t sell me whatsoever. I’m not saying EA is without it’s fault….but it’s like EA has taken on a Microsoft like hatred from the community. NBA Live 08 is a very solid basketball game. Yeah there are flaws, but this game is more scrutinzed than any other sports game out there. 2K’s game play makes me laugh, because I cannot see what’s so special about it…now here is where the 2K haters come in and say “you must love pretty graphics over gameplay” or “you must not enjoy real basketball”. Seriously, I’m not trying to get people to jump ship. 2K’s success is based off Live’s faults. I’m sorry, but giving daps, running into coaches, score tables…people wiping down the floor or cheerleaders doesn’t equate to real basketball. One of the few things I’ll give 2K credit for is the fact that their rebounding engine and ball dynamics is a thing of beauty. And yes I’ve been playing 2K games…before…but its the same old stuff, same old flaws, same old overratedness. That’s why 2K sales are going down. 2K needs to come out with $19 games again if they want to save or increase the fan base.

ok chek this out im not downing live by any means at at all it is a great game as far as basic basketball goes. its like the spurs of basketball games plain but it gets the job done w/o the flash. so yes i agree it is a solid and pretty game but the puzzle is in complete. i could go on all day long about whats right and whats wrong with both games but that is doing alot. as far as the so called animation gimmicks. i would not go so far as to say that they are so the wiping of the floor the cheerleaders the dapping it is part of basketball those things do happen in real games. the off the ball movement wich is really lacking in live but it is in 2k8. seriously outside of the graphics the 2k8 is the more realistic game. i have played both games the full version and trust me i tried my best to make live a better game than 2k8 but proof is in the pudding the game is still better than live. im not ea bashing by a long shot. the game is much much better than last years game and i hav been playing ea sports for many years. the only ea sports title that i dont play consistantly is the b-ball because 2k is better not by a large margin but non the less better. im pretty sure ea will surpass 2k next year they just have to work out the kinks on the new engine. im not a fanboy by any means not sayin that you are calling me one but i have to let you know. 2k right now just has a better fun factor for me. oh yeah just ke in mind that this is soley my opinion and maybe some others. but just read all the gaming mags and they all “Say it”. 2k is still a better gaming experience. the gap has just gotten smaller thats all

download playmaker’s sliders and tell me what’s the better bball game. The reason why that off the ball movement isn’t as good is because the default EA ratings are out of whack…this is because if they place it too high the overall ratings of teams and players will be too unrealistic…this is where playmaker came in, made the right adjustments. Yes 2K is full of animation gimmicks….a lot of sites rate Live way low because of the Microsoft like persona they carry and the fact they have competition. Example. IGN rated NBA 08 at 7.5, NBA Live at 6.9 c’mon are you serious? Sony NBA 08 got a significant higher score than NBA Live 08? That’s why I don’t trust gaming magazines when it comes to sports games. I play for myself, I read the user reviews.

Just look at the sales. 2K whooped Live last year in overall sales, now Live has sold more copies this year.
