For the third straight year consumers will have the option of buying a combo pack featuring MLB and NBA games. Sony announced today that PS3 versions of MLB 14: The Show and NBA 2K14 are being bundled for $90 to release on April 1. Last year 2K Sports offered a MLB 2K13/NBA 2K13 bundle for $80. The year prior it was MLB 2K12/NBA 2K12 for $70. The cheaper prices with those deals were meant to entice consumers who had an interest in NBA 2K to buy the far less desirable MLB 2K along with it....

It's been evident for a long while now that there would be no further extension to the MLB license with 2K Sports. The MLB 2K series was actually cancelled in 2012 only to return due to a last-minute one year extension that resulted in a shameless carbon copy of the previous title. SCEA even recently touted how MLB 14: The Show would be the only baseball game on next-gen consoles. As unlikely as the scenario seemed that still left at least an opening for 2K to continue on the 360 and PS3 for...

Along with the official announcement of MLB 14: The Show and cover athlete Miguel Cabrera SCEA slipped in the declaration that the PS4 game is "the first and only MLB simulation for next-gen consoles" which confirms widespread speculation that the Xbox One will not have a baseball game to offer next spring. • Sales for MLB: The Show Continue to Slip

After peaking in sales with MLB 10 SCEA's The Show series has declined modestly every year since. Though it faces essentially no competition on the PS3 and the quality of the franchise in terms of reputation remains stellar, grumblings of a lack of advancement and questionable decisions like not offering demos have been heard and ultimately may have hurt. Perception could be altered with the PS4 offering next spring but the brand has taken a slight hit in the meantime even with MLB 13 being ...

With plenty of time having passed to vote on the player faces in the 2013 editions of the MLB games here are the results. Over 73K total votes were collected through the process and the results were definitive to say the least. While 2K Sports has at least put up a fight in the three years prior, coming out on top 30% of the time, this battle proved to be a far greater mismatch. MLB 13: The Show won 35 of the 40 over MLB 2K13. Most of the pairings were routs with The Show taking 26 of the...

With baseball one of the last remaining sports that have competition – whether that continues to be the case in 2014 is up in the air at this point – the player face comparison between the two games has been one of the most popular features of the spring the last few years. The Show has won out in all three battles: 21-6 margin in 2012, 14-6 in 2011, and 11-8-1 in 2010. For 2013 the set of faces has been expanded to 40. If you haven’t already make sure to vote for the better faces ...
