March Madness 08 upped speed and classic team videos

Pasta great stuff. 1st off let me say that the classic teams are wonderful. I love what EA has done with this. 2nd I will say that I still think this looks more like a college game than 2ks version. I havent played it but just from the looks of the game it looks more like college thank 2k. Lastly, I cant tell if the sped up game plays differently. They look the same. I will have to play it to tell.

If I can say this. It doesnt look like the game speed needs to uped. I think its the overall players that need to sped up. But I cant put my finger on it but, the players look slower in between the 3pt lines. If you cut the court into 3 sections. Baseline to 3pt line, 3pt line to 3pt line, and then 3pt line to baseline. It seems that in the middle of the court or 3pt lines the players seem to slow down. Then when the get into there half court offense the go to a more fluid and normal speed. Anyone else notice this?

Just my thoughts on the game in motion. I still cant wait for the game to come out.

I like the sped up game it makes the game look more natural

The last video (Number 4.) Where the speed has been bumped is the best looking video you’ve shot concerning gameplay. things don’t look as herky anymore and it looks decent enough while not at all on the same level as NBA live 08

gamespeed def. needs to be upped.

You can tell when a player goes to the basket that there is a much more realistic speed when penetrating than with the older videos where the speed was at default

I had a huge problem with the way things looked at the default speed everything looked like it was a 1950′s celtics game of old school cats just shotting a t a wooden basket IMHO.

Thanks for showing us that the game speed being upped does show a very big improvement.

And now… ON to fire the producer that didn’t see this and said the game speed was fantastic

You guys need to stop whining about the speed already. This game looks very impressive, much better than Live 08.

It does not look better than nba live 08 at all.

the video with game speed upped is much better than the others. Gives me hope for this game. The animations are still an inconsistent mess, but it looks more playable than nba live for me.

How does a game look like college basketball?

First let me answer your question with a question. Can you tell the difference between watching an NBA game vs. a College game? Im hoping you can.

So to answer your question.

NBA is more up an down, one on one, two on two game. More pick n rolls, Getting one player the ball. Guys holding on the ball more (dribbling) and not passing as much. I know the NBA they run plays but they dont run a play to get a good look with anyone. They run a play to get there star a good look. With the 24 clock the run a play that is going to get TMac, Kobe, DWade, LJames etc… the ball in their hands with 8 on the clock so they can make a play.

College is so much different. Everything that is done is the NBA as far as one on one, and two on two, pick n rolls are done usually at the end of a possesion. With a 45 second clock teams actually run a offense thats going to get a good look for someone. Not just the best players. Theres more passion for the game. Just seeing players bang the floor and get in a defensive stance screams college ball.

this game is way better when u up the game speed but it seems as if the A.I. rushes alot of shots when the game speed is up.

I wasnt refering to the real basketball games first of all. If u look at the videos there isnt any offence being run its just freestyle, in the first vid a total of 2 players touch the ball and shot within 10 sec. And “YOU” wrote that college basketball takes there time with the play clock. Check out the vids bro.. And once again tell me how watching the vids that it looks more like college basketball. The courts might be different but it looks like it plays like live to me.

yeah, the atmosphere looks like college. the players look somewhat like college players, and the spacing looks right but theres not enough motion or picks. theres very little defensive pressure. that said it does look like it may offer a different experience than the 2k game, and I really like that.

Ok once again. This is my opinion. If you disagree thats perfectly fine. Your are intitled to your opinion and Im intiitle to mine. IMO it “LOOKS” like the players are playing more of a team game. So in the first vid 2 players touched the ball. OK, that does happen in college and NBA. jtdribbles really understands what I mean. If you dont you dont. Theres nothing I can do about that. Im just trying to explain what I mean. Like I said if dont understand what im trying to get it at sorry for not making understand. jtdribbles understands what im trying to get at. So atleast someone does.

there are some nice sequences in that unlv game where you can see the patience of the college game. 5-8 passes on some possessions while passing up the first shot. going inside/out then reset. pretty cool to see.

I wasnt trying to get a tag partner. I was trying to get you to understand what I was saying. However, you didnt and jtdribbles did. So thats life. Have you played the game yet? I know I havent but pasta and some other guys have. They put up there impressions on the game. What they like and what they didnt like. So why is it that you want me to make you understand what I mean. You havent questioned pasta or some of the other guys that have said some things. That I dont understand. So if you dont get it then Im done explaining myself.

Anyway, I like what I have seen so far. Cant wait to play an entire game.

No I havent played it yet, I will on the 11th like everyone else. U explained yourself just fine Dirty. Its just IMO I dont think u can say that from those vids that the game plays like a college basketball game, I go to games all the time and they dont look like that. I just dont think u can say that it does and just like everyone else u will be looking for sliders to make it play better. I would like to know your impressions when u get the game and tell me if teams use the shot clock and play team basketball whenever u get the game bro.

I just asked if you played the game cause I thought you might be a mod or got a early copy. I go to games, I played in high school and played in college, and almost got a tryout to go over seas so to comment on you statement. NO i dont think it looks like that. Neither does Choops. Which is also a good game which i am still playing. If you go back to my comments I never said it plays like college ball. I said it looks like college ball. that doesnt mean just the gameplay. Even your first question as to even how we got to this point says “how does a game look like college basketball?” I never said that. I havent played the game to say that. but i will let you know what I think of the game as soon as it comes out. I will be picking up the game on tues around 7pm ET time. So ill let you know what I think and how it “plays”. Have you played Choops2k8 at all? If you have what do you think of the way it plays? Ive played NBA 2k8, Live 08 and as i said choops 2k8. and I think both 2k8 games play alike. More zones and pressing in choops but for the most part i dont feel any different playing the two. I was very impressed with Live though. I think EA is doing a better job with there hoops games. so im very excited to play MM. What are your thought of those games? if youve played them.

I have all the games also. I like the 2k games better myself.. I tried to play live but without all of Playmakers edits I cant stand it but it actually plays decent with all the mods. I love nba2k8 its play my kind of basketball with spacing, player movement, crowd, animations etc. I only got some sliders didnt have to mess with anything else. Choops is my game, I love everything about it, especially how the cpu plays knowing who the star is on the team, running plays, crowd etc. The flow of the game just matches up with actually watching a game to me. I really am thinking bout getting MM08 but I gotta see some player reactions to what they think of the game I have never trusted the ign or gamespot of the world. So Ill be looking for ur impressions in here, it would be much appreciated. My bad if I came of the wrong way bro..

Its all good. Yeah my bad to if i came off the wrong way. Just trying to explain something in writing is always tuff. But, I did like live and both 2k games. Im waiting for MM08 to come out because i can only play one bball game. I still have all 3 games and im waiting to see which i will keep because of the 4, 3 of them will be traded in for Assassins Creed and and wii. So will see. I never listen to those reviews on ign either. I think there all biased to some sort of degree. Im they all have advertisments for all the game and it just bothers me when they rate games that are clearly better than the score they give. For example the gave NBA 2k8 a 7.8 or something and gave NBA 08 (sony) a 7.6. I played NBA 08 and it is clearly not .2% points lower than 2K. that to me shows some kind of biased or they are crazy. Thats why i value guys like pasta and playmakers and anyone else on these kind of sites opinion. There not here for anything else than give there opinions. IMO atleast thats what i feel. Anyway, again its all good. Ill be on tues night around 7pm with my thoughts. Its not like anyone will read them and care about what i think.
