The NFL Tour demo is now available for the PS3. It will be coming to the 360 Marketplace as well, however it seems likely that it won’t be out until next week. The demo features the Patriots against the Chargers with one minute halves (the default in the game is two) and can go into overtime.

Feel free to post up your thoughts in the comments section. Also keep an eye out for details on an NFL Tour online tournament for the 360, details of which will be posted in the near future.

NFL Tour is set to be released on Tuesday the 8th at the reduced price of $39.99 for the PS3 and 360.

Update 1/9: The demo has been released on the 360 Marketplace

Well its possible but I would doubt it. Generally 360 demos are released in the early morning hours of Wednesdays.

I played this demo, and the game is bad lol. The game is even more simple than NFL Street and it’s terrible. I had some anticipation as the game seemed like a decent idea, taking the ridiculous “street” element out and making the game more like Madden (hot routes, more plays, and more strategy with arcade controls) seemed like a good idea, but whiff! No wonder the game will only be $40….

By the way, keep up the good work Pasta, I check this site daily!

First review is in at EGM (the magazine)

NOTE: This was one that was reviewed by 3 editors and is based on a score out of 10.

    The Good: The reversal system
    The Bad: Where’s the D?
    PS3 version runs considerably slower

Is there anyway you can contact EA and get official word on the 360 demo? I am sure it is on Microsofts end though.

I just played it a couple minutes ago…

Well, I played on the rookie difficulty so it would be easy for me to play. I checked the controls out and they just seems very sloppy. Some buttons weren’t even used, and it seemed really repetitive when I played. The only buttons I used in the game were X [Break Tackle] and R2 [Sprint]. It seems like Juking is just useless in the game, because half the time you can never juke anyone. I like the animations in the game, they were really fun to watch as LaDainian broke every tackle. The passing game seemed alright, but it just didn’t seem very useful. I couldn’t run on the ball for some reason, the player would fall down every time.

If you play NCAA or Madden all the time, it’s going to be very hard to get used to the controls and gameplay. It’s a good thing this game is twenty dollars cheaper, because I wouldn’t of bought it.

I’d give it a 6/10, as long as you are into football.

Juking actually does work well when you’re up against another person. The tendency is to over-pursue and there were times I juked against user controlled players (especially on returns) and it ended up paying off big. Against the CPU I can see how it may not seem that useful.

From what I’ve heard it was submitted to them but it didn’t get cleared in time for this week’s releases. I’d expect it next week at the regular time that MS puts out demos (Wed 2am PT). I dont think its big enough a release that they’d go off schedule for it. I’ll ask around again on Monday.

The game comes out tuesday so that would be dumb to release a day after it comes out why can’t they just release it today

Because its not in EA’s hands, Microsoft has done this plenty of times..It seems like the verification process for a demo is insane for MS.

Eghh, couldn’t expect too much. This game does run slow for PS3, just want the demo for my 360, see how that runs. And have you guys noticed that EA in the interviews, tries to avoid saying NFL Street in any comparison. W/E

It may be NFL Street dressed-up to some extent, but at least EA is doing something else with the NFL license.

However, I’d rather they release another Head Coach game. You really need to get into the sideline experience of coaching a game, not just the mid-week tasks.

On a side note (’cause I just can’t help myself), why doesn’t EA release a free playoff download for Madden that features the fun and accurate details of all the current playoff games?

Current rosters, playoff logos on the fields, and other features unique to the actual playoff games. All a button click away so we don’t have to set up the games ourselves.

It can culminate with a Super Bowl feature that includes the stadium hosting the game in all its decked-out glory. Have fun with it!
