Latest NCAA Football 09 preview

Gametap has posted up a new preview of NCAA Football 09. In it areas such as the online dynasty, QB challenge (after interceptions), home field advantage, roster sharing, custom music, and atmosphere are discussed. You can read it in its entirety here.

“Our full stat tracking that goes in for dynasty will be in the online version,” Haumiller explains, “and we’re also working with EA Sports World to get our stats displayed on the Web as well. You’re going to be able to see your Top 25 lists, your Heisman results and so forth up on EA Sports World. We also finally have roster sharing. I can create a roster on my own, edit players, then upload the rosters for other players to download from my locker. We’ve really opened this up to the community so that if they don’t like our rosters, they can go in and change them to the way they think they should be.”

It’s good to see that some of the stats and info from your online dynasty will be displayed on EA Sports World. While the screenshots and videos are still the most fun aspect it’ll be nice to be able to view those things on the website.

Check back on Thursday night at midnight ET for part one and part two of my NCAA Football 09 hands-on report.

Wow. If EA pulls this off, it will be monumental!! If the game is half as good as it sounds, this will be the best summer of football gaming in a long while.

after seeing the gameplay clips of NCAA and Madden so far though… i still long for the day when EA pairs with (or buys) the Euphoria engine for their games

After seeing the info/screens/vids on Backbreaker and then seeing the Euphoria engine in GTA IV, I long for the day that it’s implemented into EA’s games..

Just imagine Madden and NCAA’s visuals/graphics/models paired with the infinite tackling animations of Euphoria….. *drools*

It should be like March Madness where people can complete the rosters and upload it. I hope it is unlike March Madness in the way that people can upload a roster from someone other than a person on your friends list….

The way it sounds to me is that you’ll have to be on the person’s friends list just like the locker in March Madness. I think they probably would’ve specifically stated otherwise if that wasn’t the case (unfortunately is one thing I couldn’t check last week)

I like the customizable sound tracks but, again, this has been done before. I won’t complain, though…It is a great feature.

Also, will there be team-specific entrances??? If there is one thing unique to college football is teams have their own way of making their presence known (ND tapping the “Play Like A Champion” sign, Clemson touching the rock before racing down the hill, the smoke in Miami, UM touching the boosters banner, etc…..)

As far as I know only the St. Petersburg Bowl has been awarded. It probably won’t be in, and if it is it will be a generic stadium.

Pasta, are you concerned that EA considers the INT problem solved given the reaction you had at community day?

Not necessarily. I don’t think they’d be so adamant about it if they weren’t confident. Most of what I can speak from is a user vs user experience. In the first vs CPU game it threw an INT on the very first play which had us cringing, but from going through some more time with it it didn’t seem to be an issue like it was last year. I’ll be able to speak in more detail on Friday.

It just seems to me that EA finally is getting there act together on the next gen systems..im real confident that this game will be far better then last years but i think we shouldnt expect it to be the be all end all games…ive never made a game before but i imagine its not as easy as people probably think it would be..the littlest detail might be hard work, i dont know…but i will be there july 15th at best buy at 10am…

I like that they siad fans will leave if there is a blow out. It always made me mad that the game would be a 40 point spread in the 4th and there would still be a filled stadium

I read the beginning of that article and immediately smiled. NCAA was really the only game I played a lot last year, but because of the INT problem it wore on me. It was really tough developing Jake Locker in my dynasty because of it, and he’s a future #1 pick in the draft.

    Pasta,

Someone said something about team specific entrances already. I was wondering that too. Do all teams come out to what they do in real life or is it the same old entrances? Thanks

Hopefully they made it so you can edit EVERYTHING about the default rosters (mainly im worried about year in school & havin 2 players w/ the same number) because then you will be able to completely redo their rosters which to me is pretty important.
