Recently EA Sports revealed the first features for Tiger Woods PGA Tour 09. This year will bring about the addition of Tiger’s real life personal coach Hank Haney along with improvements to Gamernet and online play. This features trailer includes a look at those as well as tuning your clubs, new courses, and dynamic golfer skills.
I especially like how they’ve streamlined the online play experience while still including visual indications of how your opponents are doing. Continue on to view the trailer.

Hey, they’ve finally caught up to Links 2004 with the speed of the online play… only took 5 years.

I think this game is and will struggle to find new things to implement this year and in coming years..
I enjoy this game and usually pick it up but I honestly can’t think of to many new additions they can add for the future

yeah i owned 2005, but there isn’t much you can add to a golf game outside new courses, equipment etc.

looks like i will be buying this game. I wonder what the cover will look like because EA has had Tiger Woods pose in every way for a cover. When will they run out of ideas?

What are you guys talking about? There are plenty of things missing from Tiger Woods that can be added.
#1 – Course Creator. You know these consoles have the nifty hard drives and such.
#2 – Online PGA Tour. You know since we have PSN/XBL. Let us compete online with others in a full tour mode. Seems fairly simple since it can be done with players individually playing rounds, posting scores and moving on to the next tourney. Make it that a player has to finish a 4 round event in a week (or custom timeframe based on the admin of the tourney).
#3 – Camera Angles – Not everyone plays with the silly spins and power boosts on. Give us more control over the cameras. Not everyone likes that blimp view of the ball making it’s way to the green.
#4 – Putting – See Links 2004 – make it more like that, you know, realistic. You need the swing of a putt to be less forgiving, offering a bigger chance to pull or push a putt.
* It is really pathetic that we are on the 4th TW game of this generation and we still have that horrid long putting animation on the short putts. People have been bitching about this forever, on what seems to be a pretty easy fix, yet we still have nothing. This is one of those perfect examples as to why people tend to get frustrated with EA.
#5 – Real Time weather. See what you have done on the PC in the past. See what you do in the football games. If you start a round in the afternoon it should be near dusk when you finish the round.
I could go on and on and on.

i really like these ideas actually. that’s one thing i’ve thought about in the past but forgot to mention was camera angles. i wish they’d have a TV broadcast ball-flight angle where you see the ball fly and also sometimes have a little PictureInPicture of the golfer who hit the ball.
The short putt animation def. needs some work too i agree

I agree with School House Rock. I like Tiger but I would like to see all PGA Tour pros in the game.
Weather and pin placement in huge in golf. Weather impacts green speed, etc…
