Paint Booth Contest

Through 6/22 I will be accepting entries for a Nascar 09 Paint Booth contest. The great thing about this is you don’t even necessarily need the game to create designs. To take part you’ll have to be a registered user of EA Sports World and from there go to the Nascar page and follow the instructions on how to create a skin for a car. You can choose from the Sprint Cup Series, Nationwide Series, or Craftsman Truck Series.

The goal is to create a car that represents and/or advertises pastapadre.com and there will be no limit to the number of entries any single person can send in. Using the Paint Booth feature create the design and then email me the dds file. I will then upload the file to EA Sports World and take screenshots of them to use for the voting. The address to send them to is pastapadrecontest@gmail.com

In the week after the 22nd I will be posting up a handful of my favorite car designs along with a poll for the community to vote on which is the best. All entries sent in will be displayed in the forum even if they weren’t selected to be in the final voting so everyone can check them out. The pastapadre.com car design with the most votes will be awarded a $30 gift certificate for Amazon.com which will be sent via email once the winner is declared.

Good luck, have fun, and I’m looking forward to seeing the creative designs that roll in!

Sounds like a cool idea pasta., I think I will try it.

C’mon Pasta…………..Times must be incredibly slow right now. It seems that there has been an exponential increase in Hockey & NASCAR topics these past few weeks. Is there anyway you could dip into NCAA 09/Madden 09 a bit more to keep your SPORT fans happy…

Bad thing about this is that only your friends can see your custom cars online. Everyone not on your friends list will see a gray car.

I like Nascar 09, its better than 08, but it still has some issues that have become more apparent the more ive played it.

Mainly pit stops: The AI takes way to long to pit and its easy to go from 35th to 15 during Green flag conditions. The AI cars get confused when they pit and they tend to wreck alot or get bunched up in the pits. Also the career mode is not as good as the older console versions. Also the AI is too friendly at times. I ran out of gas when I was on turn 4 at Talledega and was in 2nd place. I coasted the entire front stretch and finished 4th ! ??? The AI was set to Hard (the only way to race) and i just moved around a little to keep them from passing. They are not aggressive enough (this was in the Nationwide series)

my gamertag is ACREYMAN for those that want to add me and hit me up for a race when Im on. dont know how much ill play this when Madden comes out though.
(BTY I traded in GTAIV for this game, worth it IMO, enough was enough)

oh yeah. Afte you wreck it will show a replay which is cool, but the damage is allready on your car before the wreck during the replay. Kinda stupid to see your car during the replay in the draft at high speed with a hood thats bent all to hell and when you hit the wall nothing happens.

Thought the demo of this game was terrible…you could basically outrun everybody as long as you didn’t crash, rarely had to use the brakes. Is it any better on the higher difficulties?

  • boisedude

You can change the difficulty of the AI on the DEMO press “X” before you race at the track selection screen. It even changes the length of the race. You’ll like the demo alot more and yes its better at the harder AI setting. This freaked me out on the Demo also untill I noticed it.
