Man its about time they changed Boise States playbook to better reflect the real thing. I checked some of the other teams I am somewhat familiar with (mean Green with the Todd Dodge scheme) and it looks pretty close. Nice stuff.
• Loghren
Wow. This is cool to see.
Thanks, Pasta. =)
• Thanks alot Pasta! I like Wake Forest's playbook, but i'm a madden guy and this will be my first real year with NCAA... I have ran the Run 'N' Gun playbook for years! What is the closest playbook in the NCAA to this?
• Alex
As usual EA just copy and pastes USF's playbook even though they don't use half of these formations. They have a goal line set that they used at least 50% of the time they were inside the ten yd line where they have 3 rb's and no fb and of course its not in there
• SJ
Navy has a pretty cool playbook with a lot of funky formations.
• Josh
Isn't almost time for you 12 year old kids to go back to school? You guys need to seriously give it a rest with that 1st crap. Pasta already said he's going to start deleting people from the site who keep doing that. This isn't a site for people to argue back and forth on who's 1st. I'm sure Sesame Street is on for you to watch instead of you playing around on mommy & daddy's computer.

pasta are you going to do a review for this game?
• Bagel
Thanks for posting these, Pasta!

Can't wait to run that high powered Ga offense.

I don't do reviews, but I will post final impressions and various thoughts, plus a comparison vs the community event build I played and how much change they made based on our suggestions.
• Twistanutz22
It doesn't work on my computer... it says a "drawing error" has occured. Thats too bad as I was hoping to see Oregon's Spread Option playbook. Any suggestions?

Update your Adobe PDF at Adobe.com

just get the free reader and you should be good.
• Jamin
oo! i see articles on games thinking that they are reviews

I love using Navy in Ncaa 2008... Keahaku (QB), Ballard (FB), and Cambell (slot back), all in the back field running that triple option offense is so much fun...

I will play anyone with Navy...it's just a fun offense to play with. I don't need to spread it out on you to win...just some good old fasion veer option football. So if anyone ever wants to play online..my gamer tag is HurricaneCy
• Groundhog
It will be awesome playing against schools 3 or 4 seasons in that have lots of QB rushing plays built in to their playbooks, but now have a guy who is slow as a turtle at QB, yet will still continue to try and run him around the end.
• metsfan96
i have the game so if u wann play me hit me up..gamertag..BOWLD

Pasta, i just thought of a good question. So I know you can import NCAA Rosters into your Franchise on Madden, but can you import them to Head Coach for the draft? It is kinda off-topic, but oh well
• g2thecore
None of these are coming up on my computer. I just get the Adobe page come up but it's blank.

Nope. They decided rather than do that they would create thousands upon thousands of unique players that will enter drafts all with their own backgrounds, potential of being a bust or diamond in the rough, having audio recorded about them, ect.
• leglockfan
That's pretty neat for Head Coach IMO.... I like keeping it real but I like this idea too
• dog
loaded the adobe...s.till will not work.
• jacob
its taking a long time to download but it will be all worth it
• twistanutz22
Ya, can't get this to work even after downloading the adobe PDF deal. Any other way to view Oregon's Playbook? I'm dying to know if they got it right!!!
• Tex
Why it's only offensive?
• Sakai
Why it's only offensive?
The defensive playbooks are in the middle with the name "NCAA (defensive formation)". Try and search for NCAA 4-3 for an example.
• Bumble14
Why doesn't EA spend the time it takes uploading all these playbooks to pdf and uploading it to their website, and spend it adding bowl patches and last gen features?>
• aroundtheworld
where is the tricks plays out in n out plays etc?? last yr playbook was insane. These playbooks are boring
• Blondeviking64
I was just wondering, is there a playbooks that using a lot of splitbacks? NOT THE SHOTGUN VERSION. I am a huge split backs fan and rather than look through eevry playbook for it I thought I would ask first. Thanks a ton and great info.
• zoltan
Yo twista nutz, if you havent figured this out already what you have to do is right click the playbook and "save target as" save it to adobe reader and it should start to load automatically.

And blonde viking, for finding split backs i would try new mexico state, and (or) wake forest, in 08 the had at least three in their respective playbooks each. As for an entire playbook built entirely around split backs, i don't think there is one.
• zoltan
Hey yo pasta padre, do you know if there's handwarmers and qb towels in the customize a player options. Let me know if you got time.
• Devon
As an Oregon fan I have to say I'm satisfied... I think. I like the amount of detail to the spread formations they run. Granted, it's not possible to put in every thing they use, but most of the important concepts seem to be there. If I had any complaints, I guess they would be the lack of trick plays (again) and the absence of a lot of motion. Spread option offenses use a lot of it, and that doesn't seem to be represented too well.. just a few here and there, and nothing particularly complex. Still, it's a good start, and they keep building it closer to authenticity each year. Thanks for these fantastic updates Pasta.
