As Fred took a 3-0 lead with a rout of Georgia by Florida it was absolutely necessary that I come up with a victory in game four to avoid the sweep. We have a history of going on streaks against each other so even though it would be a long shot I wasn’t ready to admit defeat in the series. With Clemson at home against Auburn it took a conservative and efficient effort and one big play to finally break through with the win. Continue on for a short recap, highlight videos, and poll to determine the game five match-up.

This game was won in two ways. The biggest individual play was in the first quarter when Clemson picked off a pass and took it all the way for the TD, the only one that they would get in the game. The other thing was pure efficiency on offense. Cullen Harper went 13-14 passing and added 36 yards on the ground, CJ Spiller had over 5 yards a carry, there were no giveaways, and the time of possession favored Clemson by over five minutes. The defense also played really well getting a number of sacks. Clemson wins 16-7 and the challenge moves on to game five still with some hope alive.

The running game for Clemson was too much to handle. I’ll try and redeem myself with the crappy teams. Although it could be a setup for pasta to win 2 straight.

Nice to see a mid-major game coming up next…but we gotta be talking SDSU not the San Diego Torreros? On a different note, the Torreros got screwed 2 years ago when Jim Harbaugh led them to a 1-loss season and they didn’t get selected to the FCS playoffs…bah.
