NBA Live 09 OTP Screenshots

EA Sports has sent over a batch of new screenshots featuring the Online Team Play in NBA Live 09. Last week I was able to detail the improvements made to the mode. These screens show some gameplay with the new meter displaying how well your player is performing, club joining and inviting, the trophy room, blog area, user scouting, and the recap screens following the game.

You can find all of the screenshots in the gallery. If you have any questions about the mode or what is seen in the screenshots feel free to ask in the comments.

Pasta, do you think there is any possibility of a NHL 09 “Hockey League”-like mode for NBA Live or Madden? I would love to see that idea put into both of those games. And if they did it for NCAA Footall, everyone could be on their favorite team and the skill players across the world could battle for the Heisman!!!!! I get so amped just thinking about it……………

EA’s games always look good in screen shots but does the game play well? EA’s burned me too many times for me to fall for that again.

Sorry, I’ll dive back into seeing if I can get that answered.

Yeah definitely. I think it fits better for the NBA game than for the football games, but there is potential there too. I think that is just the natural progression of Online Team Play. They took a step forward with what they’ve done for this year, and next year I wouldn’t be surprised if that is what we got.

For anyone that thinks 2K’s graphics aren’t good this year, go over to gametrailers.com & watch part 2 of the 4 part trailers & see if you still think that.

It does look better but teaser trailers like that dont really represent what the game will look like when playing. I dismiss those types for Live too. Real gameplay is what I base graphics off.

why does everyone always argue over who has better graphics? i think both games have great graphics 2k has stepped it up this year and NBA live already had good graphics last year so they are just fine tuning them

It is just my bad experience from the past (from 1997), that nba live 09 do not deserves positive previews. You can only hope year by year, that it wont be worst, than the last years edition. I am just smiling on naive people, who believes all the miraculous thing, what EA says to them. The essencial of the EA marketing is to sell a Suzuki, as it would be a Lexus.

Yes, I am a nba 2k fanboy, I am sorry, I love quality simulation basketball games.

    Thats a good question, Huddy.

I loved Live from 1997 to 2001, then something has happened. The magic has gone, they just updated the rosters every year, and the Live community’s patches and updates kept the game alive during the next 5 years.

You know, EA (and everyone) needs the negative criticism to improve, not to lay back with self-satisfaction, as they used to. As I see, criticism has got more sense and effect, than only saying “wow, great, i buy it”. Where should I do it, if not on an EA fansite?

I feel like EA just ate up players trust, they need some whipping to get closer to 2k. EA is producing good games, I hope, Live shall be one of them in the near future…

Both games were flawed last year and both will be flawed in their respective areas this year….. and so on and so on. If you guys haven’t realized that by now you’re all phucking idiots. I buy both games but usually play 2k.

sdot, what are you going to do when EA purchases take2 :)

Ever since 2K7, 2K has had my attention but I like the “idea” of the OTP…and it is in quotations because from the past two EA releases (NCAA, MADDEN)…we have had patches to fix flawed gameplay. I’d rather wait for them to get it right then put it out. But I am seriously looking at Live for this feature…but 2K9 is good as BOUGHT. Live will probably be rented first before any purchasing thought is put into it

Live still doesn’t even have the net physics right. They don’t even have passing or rebounding right. I want Live to be good just as bad as you guys do but don’t act like Live is close to matching 2K’s fluid gameplay. Like some of you, I used to only buy EA Sports games just because of the EA logo but since Next Gen I’ve came to my senses. Let’s take the EA fanboy glasses off for a second a be real. Has Live improved? Yes. Is it on 2K’s level of realism? No. Live still has players pulling up for jump shots when they’re 1 foot away from the rim. WTF? The only reason I would consider buying Live this year is because of FIBA teams.

ok i wish they had create ur own team menu – live 2000
and keyboard control and game play like 2005.
06, 07 were just recycled and was trashy in my opinion.
i never bought a controller for pc and never will, i hope some of the moves can be done on pc keyboard. 2007 sucked at this.. 2005 control was best for keyboard.
ea should just make one nba live with awesome graphics and game play like 2005, and just have people buy roster patches.
every time they come out new game since 2005, it’s been very disappointing.
