More Live 09 Screens and Highlights

Here is another set of screenshots and highlight videos via EA Sports World for NBA Live 09. This is easily the best highlight presentation for any game to use the feature thus far. Once you get comfortable with how to use the markers and get into editing each section it is quite easy. You really want to have a vision for your highlight before even producing it. With the ability to use any of the 10 set camera angles or the free floating camera which can be placed anywhere with any zoom there is a lot of potential for creativity. Being able to alter the speed makes it even better. Now that the highlights include sound it adds a lot to them and in the future we’ll likely see progression to something more akin of a highlight reel including the addition of music.
Continue on to view screenshots of Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade, Rashard Lewis, Kevin Martin, Ron Artest, Jamario Moon, Rip Hamilton, Marc Gasol, Carlos Boozer, and Rudy Fernandez. The highlight clips feature a Michael Finley blocked shot, a Randy Foye crossover drive, a Brandon Roy alley-oop to Greg Oden, and a Josh Smith shot clock beater.

I will get both games just because i like basketball and I usually play NBA 2k ten times more but i like to play live to give 2k a break and i like some of the features live has and 2k just gives me an authentic feel live may not be the best but it is still fun to play

I hope that the 2k insider will download the new all star roster along with jerseys in late february like live has been doing for a while. Also I hope he updates rosters regularly or else why are they really paying this person. How often do you guys think they should update roster, realistically

How are the free throw animations, are they player specific like in 2k?
Is it bad that the highlight reel upload makes me want this game? haha. I am loving the screens too.

hey pasta have u created a player and if so does the headbands not fit fit the players head. and also the framerate drops when ever i look at the replays on the ps3 version. just wondering if u have these issues.and im not talking about where u edit the replays, im talkin about when they play while in game where u can press L1 or in ur case i guess LB to view ithem

I DONT THINK 2K SHOULDA ADDED THE INSIDER IDEA TO THERE GAME BECUZ IT SEEMS HALF DONE, THEY SHOULDA CAME UP WITH ANOTHER IDEA . ALTHOUGH I LIKE THE IDEA OF ADDING ANIMATIONS IN, WHICH IS PROBABLY SUPER EASY SINCE THEY R USING A MUNDANE GRAPICS ENGINE. FROM AN OUTDATED GENERATION.

I CANT WAIT TILL THE SEASON STARTS TO SEE HOW THE OTP CLUBS WILL PLAY WHEN THEY USE THE LAKERS ALL THE TIME AND KOBE GETS COLD FOR A WEEK, WILL THEY NOT PLAY OR WILL THE GM OF THAT CLUB CHANGE THE TEAM OR TEAMS THAT HIS CLUB USES.

WHEN I SAY GRAPHICS I DONT MEAN LIKE FACE SHAPE AND STUFF LIKE THAT, IF U LOOK AT 2K5 ON XBOX AND 2K5 ON 360 THEY LOOK EXACTLY THE SAME, WITH THAT SAID EVERY 2K HAS LOOKED THE SAME SINCE WITH MORE LIGHTING AND MORE COLOR AND ANIMATIONS BUT THE GRPHICS ENGINE THEY USING IS OUTDATED COMPARED TO ANY OTHER NEXT GEN GAME. WHEN THE REVIEWS COME OUT THEY WILL SAY THE SAME THING I AM SAYING. NOT TAKING ANYTHING FROM THE GAMPLEY OR ART OF THE GAME BUT THAT ENGINE NEEDS TO BE UPGRADED. EVEN UNREAL UPGRADES THERE ENGINE AND THEY HAVE HAVE ONE OF IF NOT THE BEST GRAPHICS ENGINE TO DATE LOOK AT GEARS OF WAR OR UT3. 2K HAS NOT CHANGED THERE ENGINE SINCE REGULAR XBOX WHICH MEANS THE GAME SHOULD IN ESSENCE BE CHEAPER. JUST LIKE SHOOTERS SHOULD BE THE CHEAPEST GAMES ON THE MARKET BECUZ OF THE EASE IN MAKING THEM. THE HARD PART IS IN THE ENGINE. ONCE THATS DONE EVERYTHING ELSE IS TWEAKING.

I agree!!! I donrt think 2k updated anything abou t the all star weekend last year but I’m not sure. I also wish ray allen would shoot the ball lightning quick in 2k9 like in real life. His shot still looks sick though

this decision is gettin harder and harder for me, first it was live then 2k now its equal as ever!
some of the 2k graphics do look kinda cartoony
but gameplay is the best ever
live has great graphics
but pretty crappy gameplay

live gameplay is awsome idk what everyone is talking about they are about the same at least now they r. 2k is gonna have issues also especially from playing that demo, but like i said b4 it may be different from the demo as live was different from its demo also. it’s all in whether u like isomotion or quickstrike.and every game has issues. they both just have different ones

That Finley block was so unnatural…the dunker had to adjust in mid air JUST TO ALLOW Finley to block his dunk…poor physics; only in Live…

thje reason i always liked 2k was becuz of the presentation. period. and thats y most people like it. u can say gameplay all day but 2k as with all sports games prided themselves on presentation making the game like watching a tv broadcast . which has worked for them. when i play live thats what i miss about 2k as i have always hated the isomotion but dealt with it, i enjoyed the presentation of there games. but it does get boring and i could never really play online becuz of the framerate issue. like when trying shoot freethrows.

I think 2ks jerseys were too shiny and watery and looked really bad. I tried to play with orlando with the throwback 94-95 jerseys when penny was there, and the jerseys looked gray not striped blk and wht. So now I think the jerseys dont look shiny in 2k9 but some people might think they are cartoony but they look perfect to me. I dont think 2k should have made the rim look so small when you shoot the ball though.

the readjustment of him dnking wasn’t really that bad. while i’ll agree that that is unlikely to happen if u play live everything is timimg, meaning lets say i go to block ur shot and i hit the block button too soon or to late soon will make me miss the block altogether to late will make me foul u right on time no matter what animation u r in it will either make me alter or block ur shot. it also take into account the player ratings position on the court etc. with that said i don’t like some of the collisons it reminds me of madden of old where if u get close enough to someone u get sucked into a tackle, but it doesnt happen very often in live.

most of da blocks look stiff & weak in live 09 only time I see a GOOD SWAT block is wen da cpu does but wen itz user controlled U get da animation from live 98

does anyone know if 2k has more sig moves besides crawfords crossover, rondos layup, iversons crossover ? I also want to know how do you controll your floater in 2k9 because I heard rob jones say you could this year!

why do the players on the bench have no numbers on their jersey? live is still a good game but 2k is just so much better its ridiculous people even try to defend live

Is that with every player because I tried that and the player would just shoot the ball when I did that. Or do I just need to time it better while Im running toward the basket. Also do you have to press the turbo or not .

I do have the turbo pressed and I push the r stick away from the basket when Im in the lane right when I pass the free throw line on any angle Im pulling away from the basket.

I don’t kno datz weird cuz 4 me
away from da baskets gets me a floater or a reverse dunk
(dependin if i’m using good dunker or sum1 dat can’t dunk)
2wards da rim is 2 draw contact
(if sum1 is in front of me)
L&R either gtes me a lay-up off da back board or shield da ball from ur defender
(dependin wut hand da ball is where ur defender is & ur postion)
R U playin 2K9 Demo or final product cuz

I’m playing the demo but maybe I just need to get better positioning in the lane when I try to do a floater because if rob jones said you have controllable floaters,Im pretty sure he didnt mean only sertain players because he would have said that so I think I just need to keep trying to find the right spots on the court to try them. And does 2k have the pick and roll like live 09 does or not I forgot.

(TAP) Circle 4 him 2 slip da screen (he’ll roll automatically)
(HOLD) 4 him 2 REALLY set 1(he’ll roll auto)
Lastly (I think itz) HOLD Circle & da Lsft analog away from da basket 2 make him pop out 4 da Jump Shot

right on!!! I’ll try that. I knew it was that button but I didnt know how to use it . 2k sig free throws are also off the hook. EA is good too, but 2k is very detailed with the routines at the line, and the body movement when they shoot the ft

I’ve seen Jerry Stackhouse over the last two years come from behind and block several shots on a dunk attempt including a Shawn Marion dunk attempt…in fact it was Stackhouse who caught up to Joe Johnson a few years ago and blocked his shot on fast break.
Finley by the way can still get up if you like proof I can show you a few dunks that he’s had in the last few years that you make say wtf….was that Finley?
