EA Sports has posted up the first video featuring NCAA Basketball 09. Keep in mind this is a teaser so it doesn’t contain a whole lot of substance. The newly rebranded college basketball franchise is hopeful to improve in quality and offer a more immersive college atmosphere and experience. It is currently exclusive to the official website for NCAA Basketball 09.
Immediately I was able to indentify some of the traits of the NBA Live engine that the game will be using this year. Does this video increase your interest in the game at all? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Well I am personally looking forward to this game. I hope EA is able to fix some of the errors in NBA Live 09. I am assuming that they will not have time to fix them all, but hopefully some will be addressed. I noticed a few similarities between Live 09 such as ankle breakers. But I liked the low post play instituted last year, and I like in the video you can intercept the pass and take it the length of the court w/o breaking stride. I also liked the block from behind. I am not expecting miracles this year, but hopefully a solid foundation to build from for future installments. I bought NBA 2k9 and love it, and NCAA is the one holiday game I am waiting for. Looking forward to the demo.

The game does feature the Live engine, but the dev. team has worked on using the two extra months on improving it over Live 09 and adapting it to the college game (where need be), so people shouldn’t expect it to be 100% identical – close, but not exactly.

how can you say college hoops 2k is way better when the game or demo for that matter is not even out yet? i have college hoops 2k8 and i love it,i think i’ve played it more than any game i have but no one can give an honest judgement untill they have played both.

This game will be the same crap it’s been year -in- and year out…..cannot stand the way the players move…..why can’t EA figure out what real basketball looks like?

Like I have said for the past month, this game is gona be amazing!

I really don’t like the NBA Live engine and think that CH2K8 was one of the best games I have ever purchased. I would be happy ticking with CH2K8, except that the 3-point line has changed in college basketball and it won’t be as realistic. I will probably buy this game regardless.

I’m probably gonna buy this game Not because it will be a great game (Live engine uggh) but for the same reason I buy Madden every year. It’s the only college basketball game available & I love college basketball games. 2K College hoops why did you do us like this? Lol

I was happy with MM 07 as I saw it as a building block for the comeback of the series. However, MM 08 took a step backward. I hope EA, now with the only game in town, fixes many of the issues from last year (including the ridiculously small numbers on the jerseys).
Although I am a fan of college hoops games I will most likely rent this unless EA drops the price to $39. With some of the exclusions announced by EA that is enough to warrant a price drop.

No online dynasty=no buy.
Why would anyone pick this up when NCAA 09, NHL 09, Live 09, and CH2K8 have so much more to offer?
I think next year NCAA Basketball will be great once it is polished and online dynasty is added.

I’ve played the game first hand and can say only positive things about. even after getting a great set with NBA Live 09 i can honestly say that NCAA 09 is improved animationwise and gameplay wise. it plays very much like a college game…

EA has had 3 years to fix the Live engine, how are two extra months going to make for better gameplay with college basketball?
