MLB Front Office Manager Price Revealed

One of the frequent comments when discussing 2K Sports’ MLB Front Office Manager has been that interest would be had only at a lower price point than the standard $60 game. There is legitimate concern as to whether a game of this nature can succeed on the consoles, especially after the relatively low sales and interest that NFL Head Coach was able to capture. Baseball fans though are more likely to be attracted to a game of this nature than football fans were to Head Coach.

The question as to how much the game will be appears to have been answered. Retailers are listing it at $39.99 for all platforms (PS3, 360, PC). The release, previously only stated as late January, officially appears to be Tuesday January 27th.

Does the lower price increase the likelihood of purchasing MLB FOM? Leave your thoughts in the comments.

Good move by 2K to set the price there makes it a lot easier to take a chance on it. The game sounds like something I might like especially the online fantasy mode. Hopefully 2K’s lag problems won’t matter with that mode.

    2ND!

If ur not 2nd your last!

But even with a lower price, i dont see baseball fans buying this game. This game should be included as an extra mode or somthing in MLB 2K9- same way NFL head coach should be included. Maybe include those games in a package. Dont sell em separatly.

This game is worth a rental at best.

I would of bought it for $90 if packaged with MLB 2K9, so $40 is a little too steep.

No…..my theory is you get what you pay for, and since MLB 2K8 was $60, and that was a terrible games, how is this new mlb game gonna be any better…..

I was hoping 2K would go the way of the NFL 2K5 and drop a $19.99 price tag….

Ah well…I am a huge fan of baseball sims and I will give this game a shot…The timing is perfect since the NFL will be over and just prior to the opening of spring training….

I’ll probably end up giving this a try at some point but for 40 bucks it’s more likely to be a gamefly rental for me. 30 would have probably meant a purchase. Bad timing on this release though I think. The rosters will be horrible, I’ll be surprised if there are any offseason moves included. Plus that time of year I feel like baseball is kind of last on everyones priority list. Would have been better as a midseason release like the Bigs if I remember correctly.

  • Eric

I’m going to wait on this. $40 is tempting but considering HC09 is going for under $20 used on Amazon just 2 months after release…if I wait until 2 months after release on this it’ll be just in time for the start of the 2009 season.

The timing probaby works for this though. First there are really no sports releases between Nov 17th and early March so this fills the gap. But also, if its like Head Coach in this regard, you’ll begin right after the World Series and work the offseason. So you wouldn’t need the real life offseason moves in that case. Yeah this clashes with the NFL Playoffs and Super Bowl but after that people really look forward to Spring Training.

u couldnt put head coach on a madden disc. head coach almost filled a whole disc so it definately wouldnt fit on a madden disc. ill give this game some time and wait for reviews to come in to make my decision. and someone said they believe u get wat u pay for, it doesnt work in video games. most next-gen games are priced at $60 if its gears of war 2 or ratatouille. the reason they made head coach $50 and this $40 is because its the first time they r making the kind of game(head coach 09 was pretty much a new game because they threw everyting out the window from the first one) and they arent sure how it will be percieved yet.

It could be $ 10.00 and I wouldn’t get it…..heck MLB could be $10.00 and I wouldn’t get it. Baseball in all aspects is utterly boring to me.
