UFC 2009 Undisputed is an intriguing release coming down the line and THQ has released some new screenshots (can be found in the gallery) as well as revealed some more of the eventual roster for the game. IGN recently had the announcement of two more fighters being Kenny Florian and Joe Stevenson. Check out the Wikipedia page for the current list of 16 confirmed fighters of what should eventually be a roster of over 100.

The game has been in the press recently due to the controversy over UFC requiring their fighters to sign lifetime exclusive videogame contracts and releasing those from the organization who refused. Though no official release date has been announced various retailers have it slated as arriving the last week of May.

The only games of this type that I'd be interested in would be the WWE games and the Fight Night series. I know that there might be some people looking forward to this game, but honestly, this one's not even remotely on my radar as there are other games that I'd be more interested in picking up before the year is up like FIFA Soccer '09, NBA 2K9, and a few others.

If it comes out late May I'll probably consider it. Between the baseball games and NCAA Football there is time there were I'd be looking for something new.

The old UFC and Pride games were AWESOME and I can't wait for this one! It was very strategic, if you were attempting an arm submission from the ground, you had to counter with the same move as fast as possible. Counters worked well in the striking game too and the old games were very addicting but lacked the appeal the sport has now. Love MMA…

Kimbo is a joke. Lesnar is very polished for being as green as he is to the sport. Now, OJ Simpson……THERE IS A JOKE OF EPIC PORPORTIONS!!!

This game has been and still is at the top of my wishlist. I've been waiting for this game to come out since the last one was released in 2004. From what I've seen, it's going to be pretty damn solid as well.

The UFC games in the past have been no fun, but this one looks like it might finally be good. Pummeling a your opponent and then submitting to a leg hold seconds later isn't very rewarding, so hopefully they have a system in place that makes this kind of sport enjoyable.

with so many varied fighting styles and tons of different moves these fighters use… does anyone else think this is going to be impossible to master in a video game? i hope its fun, i just picture too many funny/glitchy situations created by such complicated fight styles/controls… we'll see, i'm still pumped

its going to be hard to put all the different aspects of MMA into a video game without it being repetitive. i also hope there is a Create a fighter but i doubt it. However i am surprised at how serious UFC is taking this in trying to make it as authentic as possible and it seems like they are putting alot of effort into this and want it to be a good game which is a pleasant site to see.

I saw actual game footage of this game and I don't believe you can capture the MMA sport on a video. The game physics (in terms of movement and "smoothness") were similar to that of Prizefighter. I agree with a previous poster that it's going to be extremely difficult to capture all the fighting styles, intangibles, weight, strength etc. If they can pull it off somehow, this could be serious competition for the Fight Night series, but from what I've seen Fight Night still reigns supreme.
