I’ve gotten my hands on the features list for MLB 2K9. This represents the first real info for the game which is set to be in stores on March 3rd.
As expected it appears that they’ve attempted to simplify several aspects of the game. The trading card system looks to have been improved and more has been done to add to the authenticity of the experience. Providing the basics such as a smooth framerate and solid online performance are a necessity for this year, but other than those things is there enough here to deliver the game consumers have been hoping for?
Continue on to check out what is in store for this year and leave your thoughts in the comments!

Pro Yakyuu Spirits > The Show > 2k. Pasta you should really look into covering it. We need more people playing this game! Although I do like the small comunity! Check out Pro Yakyu Pasta!

Haha Pro Yakyuu Spirits is terrible. It's a huge waste of time to play. I'm sorry but playing with players that nobody has ever heard of is stupid. It goes 1) The show—2 and a distant 2) 2K and—-3) Pro Yakyuu Spirits. Nothing baseball-related tops the show. End of story.

Ok, I'm thrilled with the update at least…. but what about franchise mode?
Will franchise mode be deep? It's very scary that there was no mention of it by 2k sports. Xbox users really might be screwed if they drop the ball this year.

Tim, I won't even comment! That is a very, very ignorant comment! Just because you don''t know Japanese players, doesn't mean other people don't. What do you think they watch over in Japan? And for your info, Pro Yakyuu has been rated higher then the show on numerous sites, included in the opinions of players who have played both games.

*sigh* better franchise and some sort of 1st person/Superstar mode like the show has is what i was hoping to see something about. i'm not buying a dang PS3 just to play the Show. if i had money to burn i would.

The signature styles seem cool, but it seems like most of the new features are focused toward online play. I agree that the online play really sucked last year and needed improvement. With all due respect to all the people who love to play online, I am more interested in the gameplay. Why do we need new controls every year.

Wow this is pretty good. Great presentation but no game trailers or picture to prove it, The Hitting seems to have been revamped but no demos to show us, No mention of the Franchise mode, Superstar mode or Online mode but they give us the Manager walking around, No visuals of the graphics but they tell us about the signature style. I wonder if 2K sports knows that when you say "making MLB2K9 the most realistic baseball sim to date." that means that playing the game feels like playing Baseball? I wish Microsoft would just buy out the MLB rights and give it to EA because if 2K9 suks they will lose alot of Baseball fans going for the Show. Its simple marketing but i'll hold my judgement till March 2nd or March 3rd when they release the Demo (Clowns).

okay so i guess 360 users still have no " road to the show" mode or career mode or whatever you want to call it… guess im buying the show on PS2 then. Why is it that they are jacking around with trading cards and vendors in the stands but NOT adding one of the best play modes in sports games. I LOVE baseball and I LOVE baseball games, but after playing a full season it gets a little old, but when you are only doing your at bats and trying to make the allstar game or the hall of fame, you can make it through multiple seasons and the replay value stays high. oh but wait i can add special effects to replays!!! priorities, gotta love em

Outside of the real life real world movement which sounds cool as hell it's so far behind The Show it's unbelieveable.

2K Sports must concentrate on the basics more. Create a solid game of baseball, then add all the special effects.

Are U kidding that's like March madness without Dickie V, They make the game. " Keeping the ball dooown' Some players like the ball middle of the plate in"

Not a big fan of 2K9…2K7 and 2K8 destroy 2K9. 2K you've managed to make the game worse then make it better. Why did you change the pitching view from 2K8? My 12 year old brother has more of a break on his curve ball then 2K9 pitchers do (thats with me creating a pitcher and making his attributes all 100)? The camera view in the field sucks, all of the outfielders look like dots moving around the field! It looks like the blimp view on the old Maddens.
On a postive note, i do like the batting. You guys have done a heck of a job making it more realstic because now you can actually walk. Before (2K8) if you were a batter and you tying to be patient at the plate you would have to get lucky hell to get a walk.
My opion if you would take 2K9 batting and put it with 2K8's pitching and fielding, you would have a hell of a game.

the show is good but i always liked the 2k series bettter its just funner for me the show doesnt have homerun derbys during season play it does not have any rain delays. i like the 2k series because it is more realistic so i think the little things they touch up on is going to make this game good.
