NBA Live Top 10 Highlights

EA Sports World has now started featuring highlights from NBA Live 09 in their weekly top 10 videos. Previously they had been doing so for several other 09 titles. You can watch the latest by clicking here and the video player is off to the right side of the page.

This one is definitely worth checking out. Not only does one of my videos make an appearance, but it is easily the most entertaining one to date. I didn’t expect it to be so damn funny. The Thompson Brothers have done a good job with the past Top 10’s but the addition of “The Judge” takes this one to another level.

Feel free to drop links to any of your Live 09 highlights in this forum thread where they’ll be considered on a weekly basis. All highlights are eligible regardless of when they were made.

The Wade cross over on Kobe was pretty sick. I'm a Lakers fan but I couldn't stop laughing.

I think it was better without the judge. He tried to hard to be funny and ended up just being annoying.

I hope all the up coming highlights will have a real good mix of "players" outside of Kobe and Bron Bron, since they are probaly the two best attributed players in the game! Other than that, the videos were great. Pasta, do you know if they are going back to the beginning of the release date for the Live 09? I believe i saw some really nice highlights back in Nov, and early Dec '08, on easportsworld.com; but they are probaly long gone. I had "Da MArix" from your top listings awhile back.

Yeah my highlight was done a while back closer to release of the game. They'll probably have a thread on EASW each week to nominate them like they do with the others. They don't have to be new to qualify.

I would like them to select clips that are nice but more realistic. For example, you clip looked much better than the others because it looked like something you see in a game. I like the ankle breakers but it is just so over the top with the players falling down.

This is really more of a problem with the ncaa and madden top 10 where you have clips like warrick dunn breaking 4 tackles on the way to the endzone. I think there should be some minimum difficulty setting to prevent this.

This was pretty funny. I wish this was integrated into NBA Live – Xbox Live/PS3 Online.

I think you'll start seeing Top 10s in the EA Sports Complex in Home down the line.

Yeah I know what you mean and agree. Things like seeing more great plays on defense. They got the Bosh blocked shot in at least. I think with this being the first set that broken ankles animation got top slot, but we won't see it again.

I don't have Live but have been mulling on whether or not to buy. Are their classic players in the game or did someone create Jordan?

Maybe I'm wrong but I don't think there are additional alternate jerseys. Some teams have their 3rd jersey in the game though (Lakers home white for example)

That would be good, but I think I'd also like to see this from the Online Feature from the game itself in order to get fully utilized. I think putting it in the EA Sports Complex in Home it will easily get overlooked. Placing it on the game menu will ensure it gets seen whenever someone fires up the game, and may result in a higher upload rate. Just my two cents.

Someone created Jordan. I say rent it and see how you like it. 2K9 is also a good game.

i got to admit, the judge was quite funny but the higlights didn´t do much for me.true, i am an nba 2k player but still consider myself unbiased. however, i have some problems when seeing the live highlights…..

don´t the animations seem kind of weird in these clips? for example, the crossover animations are very basic and seem repetetive. everyone seems to have the same kind of dribbling animation, wether it is kobe, d-wade or jordan
the falling down motion of the defender when he falls for a crossover, is very over the top. take the one where kobe falls for the 3rd crossover driblle and lands straight on his back. how many times does that happen in real life? i wouldn´t expect to see that kind of animation in an nba game but rather in a title like nba street.
and is it only me or are the live character models all hunchbacks? every player seems to have the same body posture, regardless of his size or body type.

2k9 does have its flaws as well but it just looks and feels more like a real nba game compared to live

I believe from previous developer blogs that next year they'll be adding in signature cross overs and dribbling animations. You're right about Kobe getting crossed up, a little over the top but at least in Superstar Mode and my sliders (see Pasta Padre forum) I rarely see anyone getting their ankles broken like that, but as you stated each game has their animation flaws that makes you scratch your head.

Over the last 2 years there have been a ton of animations added, so next year I'm sure next year they will add more. I wish Live would take a page out of 2K's plans to add new moves throughout the year….but it's not a value added feature.
