In the latest Padrecast I’m again joined by Chase Becotte from Operation Sports to discuss the feature list revealed a few days ago for MLB 2K9. It runs longer than we had anticipated (52:27) which can likely be attributed to the numerous severe problems with the game last year giving us plenty to talk about. The features that are now known appear to be an attempt to clean up those technical and design issues and make the game more accessible.
To listen in you can either download the file directly here or use the player below. Feel free to leave your comments on the Padrecast or the 2K9 features in the comments.

Last I heard was that there would probably be one this week. I'll reply back if I hear for sure it is coming.

Padre,
Great job again on the podcast. I found it interesting that you personally did not like the Swing Stick method that MLB 2K9 employs. Like you, there's just this great feeling that I get when I time a pitch right and hit a HR via pressing the button. I just don't get that when using the Swing Stick.
With the pitching and fielding controls, I usually just revert back to using a conventional method using the face buttons as opposed to utilizing the right and left analog sticks to do it. First, I can't use the sticks in that way because of my poor coordination and reflexes because of my handicap. Secondly, I actually feel that I am in more control using the face button methods whenever I play.
As to the Topps playing cards, I really don't think that it's an important factor as to why I play MLB 2K. As a PS3 owner, MLB '09: The Show is a must buy for me, but I actually think that MLB 2K9 actually has a chance to be a decent game this year.

Pasta
Thanks for your efforts on this cast
My ? is this I tried to play with my nephew last years MLB 2k8 but we returned it for 2k's
The Bigs which was alot more for fun for him but did not have the more advanced features
Franchise Manager Mode etc … Also the Pitching was the reason for the return It was to hard to grasp
For both me and my nephew and I am guessing others as well. Will they a simple X fastball Y curve etc….
Also No more MVP? MVP 2005 PC is great thanks to MVPmods.com but I need a new game

Pasta, I appreciate the podcast. I have to say that the addition of highlights with saved videos is a plus. If we are serious about our franchises and accomplishments along the way, having such things is a great peripheral. Especially in baseball, where big plays abound, it'll be a welcomed feature.
On a side note, Chase is trying too hard to be the guy that is fickle and doesn't get excited. It comes across unnatural and too deliberate.

I got 08 The Show last year cause of 2k8s pitching so If MLB 2k9 is going have that crappy ass pitching again and not what 2k7 had, i will get The Show again.
