3 on 3 NHL Arcade Videos

The first two gameplay videos for 3 on 3 NHL Arcade are now out courtesy of Gametrailers. While the release date had previously only been narrowed down to early February they list it as coming Wednesday February 4th. It is uncertain whether it will be out the same day for the 360 and PS3 since PSN generally updates on Thursdays. Hopefully some sort of confirmation on the release date comes soon.
The game definitely looks fun in the way expected. The influence from NHL 09 is noticeable and I really dig all the sound effects. It doesn’t appear to be too frantic and the power-ups along with player types add the elements of skill. Most importantly it doesn’t seem those things will lead to the frustration that some arcade titles rely on. I’m anticipating the game even more after seeing these videos.

This game looks sick. It reminds me of those backyard sports games for the pc. I might have to buy this one.

I forgot to mention, this is just a clone of 2 on 2 Open Ice Challenge with 1 extra player, that came out in the arcades a few years ago.

are there only 2 teams, red and blue? and you create your own lineups? i wish there actual NHL teams in this game tho!
