MLB 2K9 X-Play Preview

Yesterday on X-Play there was a hands-on discussion of MLB 2K8 with a couple of the producers. While the interview doesn’t offer any information on the game that wasn’t previously known it is probably still worth a watch if you are interested in 2K9.

I was a little put off by the enthusiasm from Adam Sessler though given not only how X-Play rated MLB 2K8 over MLB 08 The Show last year but also how they had a similar interview with then producer Ben Brinkman that avoided discussion of any issues that ended up plaguing the game. Outside of the much discussed concerns that have come out of the videos this year it does look to be a significant improvement overall though. Lets hope a demo arrives before release this year which would be an encouraging sign as well. Continue on to watch the video and leave your thoughts in the comments.

People are basing their opinions on last years 2k8 game, because that is all they have to go on, other than some pics and video of 2k9. Lot of venom from people who bought into the 2k8 hype and gave them the benefit of the doubt, only to be given the shaft. Especially when The Show 08 turned out to be sooo good.

Until we actually have a demo of 2k9 to play, this is the intelligent choice. 2k has a lot to prove this year to overcome their antics from 2k8. 360 only owners are extremely hopeful because that is their only option. The people that own a PS3 arent sweating this season at all because they know what they already have in a baseball game this year, having played the demo for 09.
