Gametrailers Looks Foolish With New Video

Hey Pasta, Sidewinder, Skiihawks...got any room over there on the bench for THE SHOW 09 fan club!?!?

I've ran out of kool-aid and my mind is starting to clear up...what 2k sports has done is almost criminal to XBOX 360 owners this year. This will be the FOURTH year in a row that 2k baseball has put out a sub-par baseball product.

It goes without saying that this game will be reviewed with about a 75% on average, and that's being generous...if this is the case, that means that since MLB 2k6 hit the XBOX 360 - it's users have had to deal with 70-75% rated games ALL FOUR YEARS!!!

So when I see a video like this, I say that 2k deserves all the ridicule it gets...MLB 2k is now the NBA LIVE of baseball gaming...if the fans over at 2ksports.com were smart, they'd start up a petition.

why is everyone so quick to make judgments when no one has played a copy of the actual game ? A video from game trailers says nothing about the game, just about the person playing it. I think we should all wait untill reviews come out before making assumptions of the game from a video, a demo, and a previous year game.

i downloaded the 2k demo for the ps3 last night, and i feel like i'm playing a ps2 game in high definition. agree or disagree, thats just my opinion, and as you all know, opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one.

I'm not sure this video is worth all of this negative comment, nor do I feel this isn't an accurate representation of the game. Surely people have enough mental capacity to work out the users are responsible for the errors. I suppose there is potential for people to feel that the controls are to blame, but I don't this this will damage the game's reputation in any way. To me, it looks like a beginner playing on any sports game, someone trying to gain a sense of understanding of the game's mechanics and its controls, I don't think many people would misjudge that in any way, and come to the conclusion the game is horrific.

"the show is arcade style and 2k's the real sims..." really? that explains the irremovable ball cursor the huge pitching controls and the flashing balls after each pitch and the booming crack of the bat sounds. yup all that makes a real sim, not arcadish at all.

all jokes aside 2k turned out a decent effort this year, but make mine the show.

Actually they made the game look better than it really is, you cant tell how robotic they animations are when they field the ball.

2k9 is major step backwards,this not a opinion its a fact. I dont care How outnumbered I am. 2k9 is for kids 2k8 is a realistic baseball sim for real baseball fans. 2k9 has better graphics,everything else 2k8 had is 20 times better.

How do you know this/ Do you have an advance copy of the game or something? If so, where do you get those? Stores around here won't sell games before their street date.

I'm got to be honest from jump street, I'm a ps3 owner and i'm going to buy mlb 09 the show. with that being said, 2k sports did a great job in improving their mlb franchise. last year it was no brainer to choose the show, because 2k8 was an awful piece of crap. can't say the same about 2k9 this year as i'm loving the real time presentation concept and the commentary rivals that of the show.

however, as good as 2k9 looks and sounds, the players look like androids, the bats are so thin it looks like they're playing stickball, and the gloves look like giant oven mits. my main gripe in buying this game as in was no doubt built on the 360 platform, therefore i would be playing a port version on the ps3. its bad enough i have to deal with that for ncaa football, i'm not putting up with it in baseball.

as for this particular article, game trailers is in the toilet for posting this piece of garbage as 360 owners should be encouraged to pick up 2k9 this year, not discouraged.

Hey Pasta, i know this is not related to this topic whatsoever..... but how do i sumbit my Madden vids to be included in EASportsWorld's Madden top 10 every week??

Why is this worthy of a posting. I mean I enjoy the blog very much and check in regularly but I must be honest that this is completely ridiculous. It was a fairly stupid video but did it make up my mind for me? Of course not. Anybody who thinks that this is completely serious gameplay is completely deluded.

Get back to the informative and entertaining sporting game commentary we've all come to love from you.

Although I'm not a fan of 2k baseball that was a low blow by gametrailers... they lost some respect on that vid, I dare them to do the same with The Show and see how many more people they upset.

2K9 looks light years ahead of what 2K8 was. The fram rate is crisp but it all depends on the gameplay. I'm DLing the demo now to see how it actually plays.

Horrible job by GT. 2K will remember not to help them out any in the future. LOL @ people saying this game isn't anticipated. All 360 owners that play baseball most likely look forward to this game. Saying "Who cares if they messed around?" Thats ridiculous. VC and 2K work their asses off all year long, and GT shows this?

I hate the 2K series and won't buy 2K9, but to misrepresent the game like that by having a total retard play the game and pass it off as if it's the games fault is ridiculous and just reeks of shoddy journalism.

There is no excuse for the kind of crap they pulled.

I actually don't think the person playing the game was trying to purposely screw up in the outfield. On the one play hit to right center field, if you look closely, the circle (the user controller player) is beneath Victorino and then it looks like he either changed outfielders to Werth -- presumably accidently -- or the game changed outfielders on him (unlikely). It simply looks like he was struggling with determining which outfielder the game was going to pick for him when the ball went to the outfield. I could see how that could happen.

I don't think he was trying to play like an "ass."
