As mentioned last week a trailer arrived on copies of MLB 2K9 for the sequel to The BIGS. Ironically The BIGS is a game that had better graphics and played more sim in some ways than the MLB 2K franchise did and still does. It was one of the first sports games to offer an online co-op mode, which while limited was a lot of fun. The strategical elements were well done and the gameplay was very clean. While it is very much an arcade game it wasn’t too over the top, just more of an exaggeration of the dramatic elements of the sport. It was a very good effort all around that had several ways in which a sequel could add on to and improve.
That is why it is so exciting to finally get word that they are developing The BIGS 2 for a summer release. Lets hope that the same team at Blue Castle works on this one and put the MLB Front Office Manager fiasco behind us. Continue on to watch the teaser trailer and leave your thoughts in the comments.

The trailer looks great. How is it that some of the greats like Ozzie, Clemente and Boggs are in The Big 2 but not in 2K9? Not to mention the graphics look pretty sweet…..

Pasta are you going to cover the new patch that came out for NHL 09. No big deal just wondering if you had any thoughts or opinions on it.

Nice. It will be interesting to see how they add vintage players in with the game. I think it's pretty sad when this game is probably of better quality and more realistic than 2K9.
