Grand Slam Tennis and Tiger Woods 10 will both be utilizing the new Wii MotionPlus controller add-on. Unfortunately it is becoming more and more apparent that MotionPlus has been delayed from its original targeted release. Nintendo has dropped it from its release schedule and rumors are now circulating that is because are attempting to work out some issues with it.
And that leaves EA out to dry in this situation. Recently they came out and stated the games will still perform well even without MotionPlus. Which is another sign that internally they are aware it won’t be making it out in time for their June 16th releases. Clearly it’ll take some excitement out of the releases if the add-on isn’t ready to go in time though.
These are two of the games I’ll be checking out later this week. It seems unlikely that MotionPlus will make an appearance at the event but I’m sure it’ll end up as a big topic of discussion.

I don't understand why EA sticks around with the Wii. They do just fine with XBOX and Playstation without any major issues.

The Wii has a larger fan base. TIger Woods Golf or any name brand tennis game will destroy the industry if released with this new technology. XBox and PS3 cannot compete with this extremely simplistic strategy. I mean think about it they sell Wii's to senior citizen homes can you imagine an 80 year old grand mom playing Kill Zone or Halo? Which bring us back to the argument that people are reverting back to simple games. With the Wii, iPod touch, iPhone even on the PSN and XBox Live the simple games are making a killing.

I think right now they need those to supplement what they're making off the standard games. It's just too bad that Nintendo has complained about 3rd party support and then they basically screw over the ones who came through for them by delaying the Motion Plus.

This doesn't surprise me, as I've seen zero coverage on Wii Sports Resort and it's not even listed on Gamestop's list of pre-releases. And I just pre-ordered Grand Slam Tennis the other day.
