Player Face Comparisons: 2K9 vs The Show

Now that everyone knows how MLB 2K9 and MLB 09 The Show turned out I thought it would be fun to compare some of the player faces from the games. Doing so always results in an interesting post-release discussion.
I randomly selected 10 well known players and in comparable situations. All images were taken through the HD PVR via component with 2K9 being the 360 version vs The Show PS3. Which game do you think came out on top the most?

the 2k manny would be better if the nose was normal size but the show won Matzuzaka looks amazing in the show

Hey guys. I know this might sound old and dumb, but im looking any info about The Show for ps2. I do own an xbox 360, but would rather pay 30 bucks rather than 60 for 2k9, plus i have hard mixed reviews on 2k9, and had a ton of glitches while playing the demo. So if anybody knows anything on the quality on the ps2 version, and if its at all better than last year, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Guys.

ya but PS3 is cheaper overtime than the 360
No im saying i doubt people prefer it they may like it but probably not prefer it.

Wow, none of them are great. Why do all the white guys in the show have cat eyes. and all the colored guys have brown eyes? I think there both poorly done. Look at the faces for MVP '05 and compare them with these two games, no competition.

Manny and Cliff Lee look bad on both.I give Prince to 2K9 maybe Pujols and maybe K-rod but all the rest go to the show.

mlb 2k9 wins 6 to 4. People are going to be biased on this topic because the shows better. Tell how you think instead of finding a way to bash 2k9,or fit in with everybody. The Shows Manny takes the cake for worst image of this group.

Griffey is horrible in both of them…Lee too. My only issue with The Show are the eyes. They're almost all too light looking. Makes the players look very odd. Most people have darker eyes even if they're blue, green, etc. Weird.

NBA2k9 is better than NBA live 09 and The Show is better than MLB2k9, it ain't about platforms or game makers it's about the truth period.

Just curious, why do you want a face comparison 6 months after the games have been released? Not sure I see the point.

2k9 is for little kids and people that dont understand losing makes you better.
First time I played the 2k9 demo I hit 13 HRs… In 2 innings…
The Show has better features, smoother game play, and realistic AI and stats.
Did no one else watch the videos in pastas 2k9 wrap up?

The Show kills 2k. Not only are the faces better in terms of accuracy, but also in texture. The 2k faces all look like they're made out of cardboard.

why do people care so much about player faces, you don't ever get a real close up picture. And if you have a PS3 you like MLB the show because no one gives 2k9 a chance. If your a 360 owner you like mlb 2k9

MLB The Show's skin textures and lighting is what makes MLB 2K9 look very bad in comparison. SCEA worked longer and harder that 2K did and it shows.

2K Sports' work ethic when it comes to their MLB license is piss poor and they need to take it more seriously. The fact that they hold the official license is amazing.

i truly cant believe theres even a debate. just look at the pictures or the videos. mlb 2k9 is the 2nd worst sports game ever made, after 2k8 of course. its a testament to how truly lazy 2k is. they release 50 crappy baseball titles a year in hopes of making a little money, yet if they would invest some time and effort into just one, then maybe there would actually be some competition for the show. so quit whining all you 360 owners. you get to sit another year on the bench waiting for 2k's next horribly embarrassing installment.

Well besides the fact that randy johnson is set up like a righty in the 09 Show version, i don't see much of a difference. Manny looks fine in the 2k9 version, and both griffey's look like shit. So yea, thats my take.
