One of the NCAA Football 10 Cover Athletes

While the official announcements of the four cover athletes for NCAA Football 10 won’t be made until Monday one of them is already known. Boucher1234 sent me a tweet this morning that Utah Utes QB Brian Johnson had dropped the news on a Mountain West focused TV show.

Johnson is someone who would’ve seemed unlikely when it came to predicting but the choice does make sense. He isn’t a household name but he did help lead Utah to an undefeated season and a win over Alabama in the Sugar Bowl. He won Most Outstanding Player of that game and over his career had a record of 26-7. Similar to Jared Zabransky and Boise State heading into NCAA 08, Johnson and Utah make for a good story here. In all likelihood Johnson will have the cover of either the PS2 or PSP version.

Called it. I new that this would happen GO UTAH. Pasta did u see the article on Operation Sports about the EA SPORTS MADDEN LICENSE POTENTIAL TO BE LOST because of NFL ANTITRUST. I dont get Nfl 2k5 fans, 2k can't make good games anymore excluding nba 2k. MLB is a joke, they are ripping off consumers. I love the direction Madden is going in

It's not that 2K is better, it's about competition creating better products

Really? Do you any proof of that? Or is it something you're parroting something someone else said somewhere else? Because I'd like to see that actually proven that competition = better games.

And if you can't, SHUT UP ABOUT IT ALREADY.

i agree when theres competition you get a better product just look at the wwf for example. when they had wcw and ecw in the nineties competeing for fans thats when the wwf had mad good story lines now its just bs. Samething holds true with microsoft and apple. apples ipod is better than microsofts zune. Competition makes the world a better place I love it!!!!!

I agree that we had better products back then, but again…name a better sports series than NCAA Football or Madden. NFL 2K5 was ONE game…they did it ONCE!!! Again, go buy MLB 2K9 and you'll stop complaining about Madden.

NFL 2K5 had terrible gameplay. Absolutely stupid.

I figured they'd have some sleeper, but I didn't expect that. I guess it's a good choice though. The Utes won all their games and got snubbed by the voting. At least EA gave some credit where it was due.

I just hope they address the Campis Legend mode or either take it out. I find it boring at times when you are helpless to do anything about your teams sorry play and the stupid playcalling of the computer for you. I liked the old version from the PS2 better where you played the entire game. @ least have that option in the game for the ppl who want to play the entire game and the sim option for the ppl who don't.

I am still hopeful Javon Ringer gets some love but this is a great pick. The Utes deserve some attention and Brian Johnson is an excellent choice…

madden and ncaa have the better sports series because they have so many fan boys….theyve been in the industry for so long so they've acquired a following! For example just because jay-z has more fans, money, cars, and woman and more people wanting to buy his cd does that mean that hes better then rakim? because he has less fans, no money, no cars, and no woman and nobody really buying his cd???? HE*L NO…..face it madden and ncaa are broke, look at the line play, why does the cpu cheat when on all madden suction blocking suction tackling super human linebackers super sayan running backs like darren sproles trucking linebackers corners who can cover without even looking at the qb and jump on a dime and bat the ball down. wide receivers who can truck 4 defenders while still running full speed, lineman who are faster then cornerbacks after an interception NFL2k5 did NOT have these problems they actually had line play.
