FNR4 Demo Out Tomorrow

The demo for Fight Night Round 4, which features the Manny Pacquiao vs Ricky Hatton match-up, will be out on the 360 and PS3 tomorrow. Unfortunately it will only be available to those who have preordered and received a special download code from Gamestop. There are a limited amount of codes that are being provided to those who preordered the game in a store or online.

This is a practice that I am not in favor of and it is a shame that EA is taking that route. It is one thing to provide incentive for preording but preventing those who don’t from playing the demo for two weeks is not encouraging preordering instead it feels more like forcing it. The demo will be out for everyone two weeks later on May 28th.

I expect nothing more or less from EA Sports. They are a tyranny.

EA isn't the first to do this. Sony did it with Killzone 2 and Activision did the same with COD 5. I know everyone loves to bash EA but don't blame them for following a trend. I am not a fan of this type of deal and hope this doesn't become the norm….

Once they are downloaded, they can however be shared on PSN, unlimited… its really up to whether or not someone wants to share account info. I wouldn't recommend putting it in this type of forum, but handled thru private messages on a one-by-one basis (to protect the account).

Who cares if you have to pre-order it. It's not like you pay for it right away. You can get in-store pickup and pay for it then. This is only a problem if you hate Gamestop and only shop at Best Buy or Walmart. Boohoo!

I think the UFC game has diminished the appeal of FNR4 greatly.

They can't afford to irritate customers by trying to force a pre-order. The net result for EA is a huge negative here.

Its just business baby! Basically making most people decide Fight Night or UFC, unless you're fortunate enough to afford both. Plus, if you already have UFC pre-ordered, how many of those people will say " Just take the 5 I put on UFC and put it on Fight Night so I can get the Demo" The more I play the UFC demo the less I like it. I don't see that happening with Fight Night.

I don't see the negative side on this. Let's remember, before the Xbox 360, console gamers had to often purchase a demo or have a subscription to a magazine that encased a demo. Now, with almost every week producing a new demo to freely download, we have become somewhat over indulged. 5 dollars gets you a pre-order. If you don't want to do that, simply wait until it's mass availability.

I'll be looking forward to pasta's impressions an hd videos from the demo before May 28th.

I just played the demo with a hand me down code on Ps3. Needless to say, I can see why they aren't letting us all have at this demo until weeks from now. It's no UFC undisputed

I tried code about 7:20 am central time on my 360, and I kept getting code invalid for this offer. Not sure whats up. Ive heard alot of people getting the same. It would be nice to know if any other 360 users are getting the same thing.

The whole point of a demo is to get people excited about the game and drive pre-orders. This practice of limiting to pre-orders only is bad business. They should be wanting to get the demo in the hands of as many people as possible. People don't pre-order to play a demo, so adding this as an incentive is crazy. People pre-order because they like a game, and you will get more people pre-ordering the more people play the demo.

Oh well, this seems to be the route publishers are going with lately, and that's fine, but it's bad business. I don't mind waiting until May 28th for the demo. Funny thing is, if I was playing the demo right now I might actually pre-order if I like it. Go figure….
