The demo for Tiger Woods 10 is out today for both the 360 and PS3. It includes the ability to play two holes at Bethpage Black the site of this year’s US Open, and two holes at Turnberry which will host this year’s British Open. There is also the option to try the new Tournament Challenge mode with the 17th hole at Sawgrass playable. Making the demo even deeper is the practice round mode where users can place the ball anywhere desired on the course. No wonder then the demo comes in at over a whopping 1.5 GB. The difficulty level is set to beginner with no option to change it.

For those of you who have tried out the demo feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments. I’ll have some quick impressions and videos up this weekend.

I have to say it's pretty cool. Tiger Woods has been a rental the last couple years, but I just may buy this one. I wish we could at least try the Tour Difficulty.

unless the graphics and/or presentation are vastly improved, I doubt I'll even try it…it's one of those games where I'm happy with my older copies. This Tiger series is raping it's customers with the same game year after year…at least rosters change in other sports games.

Ask and you shall receive! I don't have an issue with Tiger Woods golf as it's pretty much the same every year just as you have suggested. I do have a problem with the price. Tiger Woods is a millionaire going on a billionaire , EA is a billion dollar label yet they both like to squeeze the last drop out of the udder and starve us calves in the process. When oh when will there ever be a promotion? $35 bucks maybe even $20 for just 1 day or a week or whenever. Why oh why do they charge FULL PRICE for roster updates? Or in Tiger Woods case polo shirt updates. It's a decent game that can be made every 2 years just like MADDEN, THE SHOW, NHL etc etc. Just make a solid game then give us 1 year of roster updates then blow us away with the redefined version in year 2. They will still make their profits as the only competition EA has is basketball with 2K everything else they have on lock and MADDEN is the Michael Jordan of video games.

EA do the right thing 1 year roster updates, in 2 years redefine the game (I will count this year as the redefined game for Madden so next year just give us roster updates)

Did you happen to see the news lately? EA actually lost a lot of money last year, so the cost of business is quite high to release so many games. Not defending them, but just because they release a lot of games doesn't mean they are raking it in. As a gamer, you should want all the companies to succeed because that means better games for all.

        Peace

Do you know why a lot of these large empires lose money? Because of 3 things
          1) employee labor
          2) advertising
          3)sponsorship deals

Yeah you can give me the cost of product to produce went up and economic times and yada yada yada but the fact is this current business template is why everything cost so much so quickly. Case in point gas prices fell last year but as soon as there was another possible conflict in the middle east with Israel gas prices shot up again . Everything is based off of speculation not current actuality. A business owner looks at it that their cost may increase soon so they raise the prices on current inventory (that was paid at the previous low price) and pass the buck onto the customer without chucking the fat. In layman's terms they would rather have you pay for their shortcomings so that they can still book that trip to Tahiti. So if they wanna reduce their cost and become more profitable they need to target these 3 things: employee labor, advertising & sponsorship deals.

Going to actually agree to an extent with Mo Diddley on this one. The Tiger Wood's franchise is a good game, however, the game isn't as multi-faceted as other sports games. The game receives minor tweaking every year. This game should be released every two years with downloadable content in between. It's a solid game, but I won't be picking it up this year for my consoles. I did however buy it for my iphone.

I agree with you Root- Tiger hasn;'t really advanced that much outside of online improvements (aside from the total disaster that was 08). If the PS2 version had true HD graphics, I may still be playing 05 as that one was outstanding.

I'll be picking up the Wii version this year. Motion plus is going to be great.

Not a big fan of the camera changing in the middle of your shot. You can't tell where the ball is going, which means you don't know what type of spin to put on the ball mid flight

When you push the button (A on 360) to add spin, the camera automatically changes to the standard overhead view so you will know which way/how much to spin.

THey should do away with spin all together. I know there is an option to turn off and on but spinning the ball in mid-air is not fun, that is arcadish…ugh this game still sucks

Sports games in general have not been able to take full advantage of the current console's potential. I agree, in theory it would seem logical that if developers would take a year in between each installment of Madden or any other sports game it would create a deeper sence of improvement; however, it puts more pressure on them to make a better game because of the lapse. Consider how bad Madden 08 was. It wouldn't be very prudent for EA to have a piss poor product like that out for two years. At least 09 can hang it's hat on the best graphics in a football game ever.

There are way too many glitches typically found in sports games that having to live with them for 2 years would really be a detriment to the company and a pain in the ass for the gamers. I think it's possible to make subtle improvements where necessary and vast improvement in areas where a game is lacking. I will back your idea of EA giving gamers a break in price for once. They should give you half off on Madden 10 with your trade of any Madden from current gen systems. Unfortunately for me, I've already traded them in and currently don't own any EA sports titles.

I like the demo. I like the precision putting. And I'm very precise about that.

They didn't change the release date at the end of the demo. "In stores June 16". It will be there on June 16, but the release date was bumped up a week earlier, so it should say June 9.

Well, it is a GOLF game. What could they possibly change to make it a new game BESIDES graphics and roster. You hit a ball, then you hit it again, then you chip it, then you try to make it in the hole. Not much to work with it seems.

Presentation looks excellent…I love "real-time" updates during tournaments, changing weather and updating scoreboards. Live tourneys should be pretty fun as well.

Tournament Challenge, though, seems pretty blah for me…matching Tiger shot for shot on the 17th at TPC Sawgrass was kinda boring…just keep trying over and over until you do the exact same thing he did. If all of the challenges are done the same way, I might not spend too much time with that mode.

The game is still horrible. The commentary sucks(nothing new in the commentary) The addition of some new courses is ok. Still no caddies in the game. Still the stupid rocket blast sound when I put power on the ball. Ugh its just a rehash from last years game, that why they had a short development. Can't any company make a REAL SIMILATION GOLF GAME? I will again be bored with this game, so I won't be buying.
