Bands in NCAA Football 10

One presentation addition for NCAA Football 10 that hasn’t been discussed much is team specific bands that will appear prior to the start of the games. At this point it’s unknown which schools will have their personalized bands however the official website for NCAA has started posting up a “Band of the Day”. If one were to be posted every weekday up to release that would mean 30+ schools would have their own band formation.

The first video went up earlier today and features Ohio State.  Check out the video here and leave your thoughts in the comments.

Well it should be the greatest college football game ever because it's the newest version, but as we've experienced with Madden recently that isn't always the case. Anyway people who are saying that this was a waste of time and they should focus on gameplay more, I'm sure they have improved gameplay. And anyway this could not have taken much time to put in. A couple of hours for a few days at most.

This is a nice touch but I question adding bands before Refs & Chaingangs. Where are the coaches on the sidelines?

Agree with u let's get some refs and chain gang like Madden before this it's nice and all but its a w/e addon. I rally hope this game is not going to be just like last year since it seem like it will be (Gameplay wise that is) I like the team builder and all that but I hope they have done some stuff with the D.

I'll talk about that in my E3 preview but I won't be surprised if it goes live next Monday or Tuesday. If not then it'll be in the first half of June.

I really don't know what to think about this one. I hope it turns out to work, but if it ends up being some lame gimmick, it would be a shame that they didn't focus on more important things like the gameplay, online dynasty, etc.

That said, they might be waiting on E3 to reveal all that, so I'm not complaining yet.

I would rather prefer the bands from a HBCU instead since I tend to find the D-IA bands bland and boring [youtube WJFalZljuHM http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJFalZljuHM youtube]

We get to watch the Bands play!! Now this is a deal breaker! Im goin to pre order this right now!! When the band plays, isnt that when they cut to comercials, or when people get up to go to the bathroom or get some food and drink? The more I read about NCAA, the more I really want Madden to get here. Ill rent it just so I can have some import classes for Madden.

Weak! We haven't heard anything from NCAA in how long, and this is the best they can eek out a few days before E3. I'm really starting to wonder if NCAA just decided to mail it in this year. I just can't believe how clandestine they've been about the game (specifically gameplay) this close to release. By the looks of it, Madden is going to drop a big ol' deuce on this game. I've haven't heard nor seen anything that excites me about NCAA 10 (sorry but a marching band isn't going to do it for me). I'm hoping that I'm going to be pleasantly surprised because I really want to like this game. I prefer NFL, but last years NCAA was better than Madden in my personal opinion. I was expecting big things from them this year.

They don't even do the script O right haha what a joke. The tuba player doesn't just go out to dot the "i" and just stand there, he has that little routine where he bends over and then comes back up with his hat off

it's around the 2:13 mark. So one band down, one screwup already.

Season Showdown? Team Builder? While Madden is using pro-tak to it's fullest, chain gangs, all refs, fly overs, and making the gameplay that much better. I have to agree with Hawkeye in that Madden is absolutely dominating NCAA so far. Team Builder will be fun for the people that like to do that, Season Showdown doesn't impress me one bit, and meanwhile, everything that Madden has released has impressed me a whole lot. Don't think I'm a Madden homer because I love college football a lot more than NFL and I'm just very disappointed that Ian Cummings and the Madden staff is just doing so much better work than the NCAA staff

How can a little thing like that bother you?
Sure it could have been better, but why go through all this detail for a whole bunch or college bands.
The time could be spent on gameplay or dynasty.

Personally I am a huge Ohio State fan, i noticed the "screwup" u were talking about and it didnt bother me.
In fact, what they have is more than what i expected.

I used to live in Ohio throughout most of my childhood and am a huge Ohio State fan as well. As nice as that is, that part is what gets the largest rise from the fans during the whole Script Ohio and what most people look for. I think it's cool they have him go out there, but I would think they would want these to be as authentic as can be and all it would take is one or two more animations to put in the game.

I love the fact that they tried to put Script Ohio in the game, but it's the wrong song. The sousaphone player that dots the I doesn't just walk out there, he high knees, then does the bow to the crowd. Also, there is actually 4 script Ohio's made as well. One on each sideline and one in each endzone. Sure it's nitpicking but for a Buckeye like me, it doesn't look as exciting as when I first saw the screen

So another year without bowl patches, earnable pride stickers, team specific intros, refsf, chain gangs, broadcast presentation, and new commentary……but at least we have half baked bands! woo hoo!

Madden looks to finally be delivering what we've been waiting 4 years for from EA, yet NCAA seems like an afterthought.

If this game doesn’t show the band forming the T and then opening it while the plaeyers run through it to Rocky Top, then this is a waste as far as I’m concerned. I never thought I’d be intereted in Madden and doubtful about NCAA. It’s usually the other way around.

WOW!! BANDS!!!! When I played football in high school and college no one really paid attention to the bands. Now if it was a krunk band like Grambling or Prairie View that would be different. LOL!!! Overall I am so disappointed in NCAA 2010. I believe this game is going to SUCK this year. Last year was so good, now this year MADDEN 2010 is taking over. PASTA tell IAN HE IS THE MAN!! They have Pro -Tak and gave us the little things. REFS, CHAIN GANG, INJURY CART, PLANES FLYING OVER, GANG TACKLES, FIGHT FOR THE FUMBLE, PUSH RB'S UP THE FIELD, A NEW HIT STICK, etc.. Look at how many things I just named. All NCAA has is Season Showdown (which I like), and TEAM BUILDER (which I think will suck because of online cheesers!!). I'm so upset with NCAA this year. Maybe the demo will change my mine. Its gonna be NCAA 2009 over again. Even though I liked it, I think it should be different for the money.

Madden already released their DEMO date (early August). Has NCAA even released theirs?? They even fell behind on that!! BOOOOOO!!!

This is a SWEET addition. Nothing screams college football more than marching bands. I sure hope Michigan State's band makes it in the game although I doubt they would include the band's kick-step entrance, which is one of the best entrances in all of college football….

Although I am not a Buckeyes fan, the script Ohio with the tuba player dotting the "i" is awesome…..

Bands I hope are in the game:
    1) Michigan State
    2) Notre Dame
    3) USC (great band)
    4) Michigan (hopefully with the stutter step march when playing The Victors)
    5) Texas A&M

gad dernit. normally, i would have said this was a good addition, but then i read it was only for 30+ teams. if thats so, then they better have player entrances for the rest of the schools, if not all. i dont even care if they're not school specific, us ncaa fans who have been buying this game year after year in hope of a good college football game deserve SOMETHING productive and exciting. This is the FOURTH year on next gen, there better be some damn presentation. i am pissed off.

Madden – pro-tak, pocket formation, fight for fumble, pushing piles, usaf in conference finals and super bowl WITH players with hands over hearts AND national anthem, wr and db jostling (i think), hand towels, qb pocket moves.

NCAA – 30 marching bands in pregame thingy, possibly NO player entrances OR broadcast presentation, custom conferences (kinda cool but not tremendously important), season showdown (like i give a fuck), and no special presentation for NC games or big rivalries (there fricken better be).

Final Score: Madden – very impressive; NCAA – BULLSHIT

*i think that if a feature is in both madden and ncaa (such as wr jostling), they should at least confirm it (either in that madden blog or some other way) that it will also be in NCAA. college football seems empty without player entrances and after-game celebration

Are you the creator of Ncaa 10? Because that is the only reason anyone would ever say that this year. I have bought Ncaa football since the 90's when it first came out but they are just flat out disappointing. I would love to see the salaries of these people that make these games. I bet they get paid big bucks to bring out products that aren't that good.
