A handful of postings on Twitter confirm that the NCAA Football 10 demo is expected to be out later this week. In all likelihood that means on Thursday we’ll be getting the demo on the 360 in the early AM and on the PS3 in the afternoon.
I suspect that this demo will do little to change the negativity surrounding the game right now. Most of the improvements are subtle and overall the game feels an awful lot like 09. In a demo with abbreviated quarters those improvements will be less likely noticed. The good news is that it has been mentioned the difficulty levels will be adjustable. No word on the teams yet though it seems a safe bet that it’ll be a rematch of the National Championship with Oklahoma vs Florida.

This is great news….looking forward to playing it.
June 15, 2009 at 4:37 pm
The only negative thing I've got on this game so far is the dowloadable content others can pay for ….
June 15, 2009 at 4:49 pm
At least they managed to put the demo out. I'll play it, and I might even have fun, but I doubt it will convince me to but it.
June 15, 2009 at 5:18 pm
I play mostly offline when it comes to football games, so the rosters and pay-for-"cheats" DLC doesn't affect me all that much. I will download a corrected roster from the EA Locker when they are posted. Besides, the rosters will be completely different in 4-5 years of a Dynasty anyway.
The demo will showcase the gameplay, and that's what is important to me. Also, I am excited for NCAA's release to see Team Builder in action and play with my created schools.
June 15, 2009 at 5:50 pm
You said everything I've been thinking. I could careless about online dynasty or anything else online outside of my getting rosters.
I'm going to take the Big East teams out and put in all my created teams.
June 15, 2009 at 5:21 pm
This game is a no-buy for me. I see little change from 09. Season Showdown is one of the lamest ideas ever, and I have no desire to create a fake ass school.
June 15, 2009 at 7:36 pm
Totally agree. No offense to anyone who wants to make up fake schools, but it really is kinda stupid.
June 16, 2009 at 4:00 pm
I agree that SS is pointless, but Team Builder is not just for creating "fake ass" schools. I went to a small D-III school and want to create that team with the actual uniform and logos. Team Builder allows me to do that. Team Builder is a much-more intriguing/useful feature than SS is…
June 15, 2009 at 5:30 pm
im ready to play this game well i guess im just happy to play with my gators
June 15, 2009 at 5:37 pm
So Pasta….no word on if the Commish can turn Off the "DLC" in Online Dynasty?….Man that would ruin what would have been otherwise a truly great follow up experience for NCAA….Commish should be able to turn it off….blows man
June 15, 2009 at 8:16 pm
I think they would've told us that it was possible by now if it was.
June 16, 2009 at 3:24 am
That's actually a great idea, but yeah I'm guessing they didn't even think of it when they came up with the DLC.
June 15, 2009 at 5:46 pm
I'm going to download it just to make sure it's safe for me to pre-order it online. If not I might just stick with Madden this year since I got NCAA over Madden last year.
June 16, 2009 at 6:36 pm
get both man, you can import stuff into madden from ncaa
June 15, 2009 at 5:55 pm
This may be first year it's not a day 1 buy. We'll see how the demo plays. I'll end up getting it at some point. I have gamefly so we'll see.
June 15, 2009 at 6:10 pm
probably end up just renting it for draft classes
June 15, 2009 at 6:12 pm
agreed
June 15, 2009 at 6:13 pm
I'll be buying it at midnight release. Teambuilder alone is worth a buy to me, as it was so much of a lost cause not having CAS in any form since the PS2 days. Plus c'mon..Dynasty mode is heads over feet better than Franchise in Madden. I'll be different here and buy this at release and perhaps rent Madden.
June 15, 2009 at 6:18 pm
i tend to buy madden and borrow ncaa because i like semi-realistic draft classes (i get the rosters named and such). i'll admit franchise has been week the last…many installments, but i have a feeling this year will be much improved. and now with online franchise and all the other work they've put into it, maddens going to surpass ncaa in quality. it doesnt help that they've done some questionable work on ncaa

June 15, 2009 at 6:30 pm
Does anyone else think the cheerleaders look like they're straight out of Sims 2?
Personally I'm excited for this game; mostly because it means football is around the corner. My bro and I will play online dynasty I'm sure, but this year I feel like NCAA might get left behind for Madden. First time that would have happened to me since '04
June 15, 2009 at 6:30 pm
I probably buy NCAA on the first day it comes out just because of online dynasty. Even with all additions to Madden, the new online franchise turned me away. It seems like it need tons of improvement before it'll be working towards realism. Maybe next year though
June 15, 2009 at 11:34 am
I agree with sroeland……
Great points!
June 15, 2009 at 6:47 pm
Thanks Dcu.
I did enjoy NCAA 09 … my only hope is that the gameplay is improved some over last year. That's why the demo will be important to me.
The rosters/DLC stuff bothered me at first, but I then realized it won't play a role in how I play the game (offline). But I do see these things as big problems to online players. The NCAA Football series could be in a bit of trouble if online players turn away from this series because of these issues.
June 15, 2009 at 7:05 pm
Awesome! Can't wait to beat Tebow with the Sooners.
June 15, 2009 at 7:27 pm
I think people are way to negative about this game. I bet they will let the Commish turn off the DLC in online dynasties, but if not it really won't bother me. I mainly just play online games and offline dynasty. This game will be solid; it takes NCAA 09 and improves it, and that is all I need.
June 16, 2009 at 9:32 am
Same here. I don't know enough people to play Online Dynasty with, anyway… The only new feature I think I'll use will be Teambuilder… but I'll wait for people to create the Ivy League teams.
June 15, 2009 at 7:53 pm
What a difference from last year. I hear the demo is coming out this week and don't really feel any excitement. It's like eh, whatever.
June 15, 2009 at 8:02 pm
who cares about the DLC stuff.
I dont see why people are saying this game is going to be horrible.
If u claim to have loved 09 then why wouldnt u like 10
And if ur not going to pay money and go buy the game then u shouldnt complain about not being able to use teambuilder.
Same game with more features. Sounds good to me
Cant wait for demo baby
June 15, 2009 at 8:18 pm
NCAA 09 was my favorite game last year. And I love Teambuilder. But Online Dynasty they didn't do much to improve, the roster fiasco is a problem, and the DLC that affects OD is worrysome.
Now maybe I'll end up enjoying the hell out of it again. But right now I'm discouraged.
June 15, 2009 at 8:57 pm
Pasta… when you get the real rosters, could you point us in the right direction so that we can download them through ea locker
June 15, 2009 at 9:21 pm
I'm ready for the demo, and I'll probably buy the game. However, I will only buy the gane to be a holder over until Madden. I just wish they would have made a few more additions to the game. It seems very genreic compared to last year. Then the whole roster fiasco, just throws me for a loop. I do know this, I'm not going to pre-order it. I'll get it day two.
June 15, 2009 at 9:45 pm
Rental for me…
June 15, 2009 at 10:41 pm
aww yeah!
June 15, 2009 at 11:22 pm
Not sure what the huge fuss is about with the DLC cheats and online dynasty.
Unless you're playing with a bunch of assholes you don't know, I seriously doubt anyone would do it. If anyone did, the commissioner could just kick them out.
June 15, 2009 at 4:49 pm
Thxs for the updata pasta, but ya I don't think this will change my view on it to much I loved 09 and all but with all that is going on with this I just don't know so glad to see demo coming out this early. I'm sure tho as soon as I play the demo I will run out and pre-order this game I always do pretty much no matter what I just need some Football Baby.
June 16, 2009 at 6:33 pm
totally man… i loved 09 toooo, the only thing that needed to be changed were those pursuit angles. I think this game is gonna be awsome
June 16, 2009 at 12:41 am
Glad to have a chance to play the demo, but I'm probably going to wait for Madden.
June 16, 2009 at 12:45 am
i think Padre is coming down too hard on this gm, the rosters will get fixed, he jumped too quick to release a response about the roster problem and should have waited until EA responded to his question. From what i've seen of the action of NCAA 10, i think EA did the right thing by trying to keep and improve last years game engine. I think the developers got it right for once by focusing on the little details of gameplay rather than giving us a feature that blinds us from the actual gameplay in the game. the Dyansty feature is going to be a knockout again in 2010, even though it will almost be exactly the same as 09 but with better recruiting features. "NCAA Football 10 will be the best sports game of 2009".
June 16, 2009 at 1:31 am
No Madden will
June 16, 2009 at 3:25 pm
You are quite the jokester
June 16, 2009 at 12:47 am
I think Padre should buy a "jump to conclusions map"
June 16, 2009 at 12:57 am
does anyone know if we will be able to do the custom music option this year?
June 16, 2009 at 2:12 am
It's still in the game.
June 16, 2009 at 2:16 pm
The DLC cheats are a great way for EA to make some more cash and I can't blame them for that, but if they start to ruin OD's that will be a problem. Padre's not jumoing to conclusions. When it is this late in the games development cycle and these kinds of issues are comping up it is a bad thing.
June 16, 2009 at 3:38 pm
Woody's and Rudi's dynasties….. lol good times
June 17, 2009 at 3:37 am
JRUSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!
June 17, 2009 at 2:57 pm
RUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUDIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol
June 16, 2009 at 2:17 pm
All they needed to do in this game is fix the issues in OD (players leaving glitch, etc.), fix recruiting (17 A+ speed players, 2 star schools getting 5 star players, and generally make it harder) and fix the gameplay, This game was by far way to easy last year. A buddy and I had a two man OD that made it to 2029 I believe and by that point, the game becomes a joke. We started on heisman and every year would move the sliders up a little. By about 10 years in the CPU was maxed out on everything and users were down in the 20s and 30s. It just became too easy to beat the CPU and 700 point blow outs were the norm, even after we both switched to ULL and ULM. This is largely do to a recruiting system that when I had Michigan, allowed me to get A+ speed players galore and about 12 5 stars a class. It is also do to the gameplay and a predictable QB.
So really you could keep the game exactly as it was last year, just fix everything you did wrong and make the game harder. Teambuilder is nice, I might use it, but if I don't I won't hate on it.
June 16, 2009 at 2:18 pm
typo in my last comment, I meant 70 point blowouts, not 100. The games not that easy.
June 16, 2009 at 2:19 pm
…..700
June 16, 2009 at 3:07 pm
I AGREE EA SEEMS TO ADD WHO CARES TYPE FEATURES TO THIS GAME AND IGNORE THE GAMEPLAY ,PRESENTATION AND THE TOTAL COLLEGE ATOMOSPHERE JUST LOOK AT THE CROWDS AND SIDELINES IN THIS GAME, SAME OLE SHIT FROM EA
June 16, 2009 at 3:50 pm
http://www.operationsports.com/videoview.php?id=4...
Looks no different from last years game with the exception of teambuilder and updated rosters. :'( I may not be getting this one after all then.:@
June 16, 2009 at 4:55 pm
that video looks good to me
June 16, 2009 at 5:22 pm
Game already paid in full…..NCAA may not be perfect but the 09 version was great….
June 16, 2009 at 6:41 pm
its all about the regular old-school dynasty mode, it dont get much better than gettin 30 seasons deep with ur team, recruting, cutting, training, shedualing, setting the chart, i cant wait 4 this game to come out!!!!!
June 16, 2009 at 10:19 pm
I need more realistic tackle animations!!! I should not see the same tackle in a game!
Bring back long hair for players, half of the guys in college have long hair or dreads!!!
Get with the program with shcool shoes and colors! Please put refs on the field! Where are the mouthpieces!!! I am tired of seeing the same faces on players….more player faces with personality!!!
GET RID OF STUPID MASCOT MASHUP AND OTHER FOOLISHNESS WAISTING YOUR TIME AND START DEVELOPING REALISTIC GAMEPLAY EA – YOU NEED TO HAVE OVER 1000 TACKLE ANIMATIONS!!! USE A GAME ENGINE THAT DEVELOPERS USE FOR GTA SERIES AND OTHER GAMES WHERE SPEED, FORCE AND DIRECTION DETERMINE THE OUTCOME OF THE PLAYERS MOVEMENT… STOP WAISTING TIME OF FOOLISH IDEAS GUYS ARE NOT GOING TO PLAY!!! MAKE DYNASTY MODE MORE IN DEPTH. HIRING AND FIRING OF COACHING STAFF… PLAYER DISPLIINE…LORD KNOWS MY SCHOOL FL ST HAS RIDICULOUS INFRACTIONS EACH YEAR. HAVING TO SUSPEND OR SIT A PLAYER AFFECTS THE TEAM, ETC ETC ETC. GET IT TOGETHER EA – NCAA AND MADDEN DEVELOPERS NEED TO COLLABORATE, FOR GOODNESS SAKE YOU WORK IN THE SAME BUILDING… MY MONEY IS IMPORTANT. I INVEST IN YOU… INVEST IN ME!!!
June 17, 2009 at 3:39 am
