The demo for NCAA Football 10 is now out on the XBL Marketplace and will go up with the PSN update this afternoon. Featured is a National Championship rematch of the Florida Gators against the Oklahoma Sooners with two minute quarters. The difficulty level is adjustable which is probably a factor in its large size of 1.57 GB.
Leave your thoughts and impressions of the demo in the comments! I’ll get some videos to go up this evening and maybe some observations based on what may be different in the version I played at E3 which was likely a slightly more recent build than what the demo was built off of.

Looks good to me so far, has a nice feel to it. I like the disrupted passes when the QB gets hit. The player lock on D is sweet and definitely like the analog stick for making moves on the pass rush. I am putting a series of HD youtube videos up tonight, the first is uploading right now. My youtube profile is also nadasfan if you are interested in checking them out a little later.

June 18, 2009 at 11:05 pm
my only negative on this game is there is no user strafe catch! but its wateva though i can deal with it!
June 19, 2009 at 9:21 am
i got like three of those so idk whats goin on with u
June 18, 2009 at 11:07 pm
how is the field? Are the players getting dirty?
June 19, 2009 at 6:51 pm
You only play 2 minute quarters so you don't notice it. However, it was in 09 so I am sure it will be there this year…
I am wondering if there is dynamic lighting this year….
June 18, 2009 at 11:11 pm
Wow, I've been playing this for almost a year already. You guys are now just playing the demo? Wait…wait…Oh! Oops, my bad! This is NCAA Football 10 not '09! I thought it was the new one…Ha! It's hard to tell…This game is a huge fuckin' disappointment!
June 19, 2009 at 1:31 am
Yo Jesse I totally agree I am very disappointed because Madden 09 looks better than NCAA Football 2010.
June 19, 2009 at 1:47 am
Is anybody buying this game?
June 19, 2009 at 3:06 am
you realize you dicks are the only ones who have hated on this game sooooo shut tha fuck up
June 19, 2009 at 6:53 pm
I agree it looks like NCAA 09 but that isn't such a bad thing. The new animations and other control features make the game that much better.
I have already have it paid in full…It is a lot better than I expected….
June 18, 2009 at 11:15 pm
After playing a couple games, I only have one major complaint – you have to player lock on the QB to pump fake. This is really inconvenient, as it basically takes you out of the play.
June 19, 2009 at 12:39 am
No you don't, just flick your RS in the direction you want to pump fake.
June 19, 2009 at 3:20 pm
I know that's worked in the previous games, but everytime I try it while not locked in, nothing happens. Are you sure it's still in? Maybe they changed it to up on the R stick like pump up crowd…
June 19, 2009 at 9:21 am
lol ur an idiot
June 18, 2009 at 11:24 pm
The acceleration is slower, it is more difficult to make user catches and user picks, and the QB's passes flutter way to much (happened in my game about 10 times). It is kinda akward compared to last years game but everyone will get used to it and it will become the norm just like every year when they change it a little bit.
June 19, 2009 at 12:22 am
Yeah I play free safety..and switch to the corners for picks…I have been unstoppable on the pass couple games…I guess they are trying to neutralize all the picks by recievers adjusting to the ball instead of letting DBs skyrocket and get passess…It realistic tho…just have to get used 2 it..
YO
June 18, 2009 at 11:27 pm
I don't like the fact that user strip is now the left bumper button, other than that game felt tight than 09.
June 18, 2009 at 11:43 pm
lol..TEBOW just did a jump pass and i picked it off..loving the demo so far.
also love the uniform mixer. cant wait to use my teambuilder teams
June 18, 2009 at 11:44 pm
also i love that there is an actual pocket now..good work ea
June 19, 2009 at 1:50 am
What game are you playing. There is no kind of pocket formation dude. Do you know what a pocket is?
June 19, 2009 at 1:56 am
I did get a pocket 1 time lol I have seen 1 tho just 1.
June 19, 2009 at 12:32 am
Incredibly disappointed. Camera flashes are annoying. 10 flashes every 2 seconds thats a little much and unrealistic. I dislike the new gameplay camera. Feels way too much like madden 09. I liked NCAA 09 because of the unique style of gameplay compared to madden 09. I feel the demo is a lot like madden now. The AI when in open field doesn't use jukes or spins, it just does robotic turns. The play calling screen felt a little laggy. I was a huge fan of NCAA 09 but from this demo i don't like what I see so far for Ncaa 10.
June 19, 2009 at 1:03 am
the game rocks dude player lock is amazing!
June 19, 2009 at 1:04 am
is it out for ps3?
June 19, 2009 at 1:06 am
yes
June 18, 2009 at 6:27 pm
Less than a month to go, Great game and it’s only the demo, the real game will be the sh*t. Stop bitching about the flashes it’s the National championship game, the bigger the game the more flashes. An EA guy said today that they will have the patch (rosters) ready on July 14……. I’m so ready, football is the best.
June 19, 2009 at 1:48 am
Football is the best, but this game is garbage. Why would anyone possibly want to buy this game if they have NCAA 09?
June 19, 2009 at 2:57 am
It may be the national championship but the flashes are still annoyingly unrealistic.
June 19, 2009 at 3:28 am
wow yall are the naggingest mother fuckers ever, yall get mad over CAMERA FLASHES and STUFF LIKE PLAYERS ON THE SIDELINE… do us all a favor and shut your fucking mouth
June 19, 2009 at 1:31 am
Well, it's a demo so I guess you can't be too critical just yet. I'll start with one of the only positives I found: the player lock camera (especially on defense, especially on a safety) is pretty sweet. It, of course, leads me to wonder if Madden is going to have a similar feature, which I would suspect it will. Other than that, it's hard to find any good out of the demo. The CPU defense is still garbage vs. the pass, and is it me, or does the gameplay to feel different (not in a good way). I haven't played a football video game in a year because I played both NCAA 09 and Madden 09 for about a month respectively before it was a wrap for the year.
The game just has a real herky jerky feel to it and maybe it's because of watching all of the Madden 10 clips that the game feels uncomfortably fast. Like I said, I haven't played football in quite a while so maybe it's just that I haven't played that makes me feel like there's something just off. One thing I do know is there is no WOW factor whatsoever. Considering all the hype and attention Madden is getting, EA will be lucky to sell 200K of NCAA 10. Many in the community are pissed and finally people are getting fed up with getting ripped off!
June 19, 2009 at 3:22 pm
I think EA will sell a ton of NCAA, if only because you get a $40 trade in for Madden at GS
June 19, 2009 at 1:43 am
Sorry guys, but pass D sucks, straight up. It's only a demo, so you can't pass the final judgement yet, but what was in the demo in terms of pass defense was terrible, just like last year. The whole CPU adapting to your play calling gimmick that they talked about is complete bull. I tested the theory by running the same play for the entire game and completed about 80% of the time on heisman. Not only that but playing with Tebow is extremely easy to roll out of the pocket and either scramble for 10 yards at will or buy an extra few seconds (no pocket formation even close to what we've seen from Madden). If it was that much of a joke playing against the #2 team I'd hate to see how playing against Eastern Michigan would be like.
June 19, 2009 at 1:53 am
how is the running game, fellas? has it been improved? are the o-line able to open up holes/lanes for the RB much better?
June 19, 2009 at 2:15 am
Hawkeye4077?
All you are doing is telling people they are wrong to like the game.
I like the passing:
Hawkeye4077 says: The passing sucks, why buy?
I like the improved defensive angles:
Hawkeye4077 says: The pursuit angles suck, why buy?
I am loving the demo, this is fun:
Hawkeye4077 says: You don't know what fun is, why buy?
I enjoyed the demo and agree it is a cleaned up version of 09. WTF were you expecting? A lot of things have been cleaned up and I always plan on playing with CPU AI at 100 anyways.
Hate all you want, but stop arguing with people that they enjoyed the damn thing!
June 19, 2009 at 2:33 am
i like it. the uniform/sock/shoe selection makes it a buy for me. after years of waiting, justice has been served.
June 19, 2009 at 3:01 am
i got iced in my second game im pretty sure
June 19, 2009 at 4:01 am
This game is frickin terrible, on every aspect!
June 19, 2009 at 4:30 am
I think Player lock is a great feature. Outside of that Madden blows this game out of the water. After playing the demo I went back to watch some of the game play vids that Ian posted and for me it is night and day.
June 19, 2009 at 5:31 am
yay still no new face masks. at least theres new cheerleading animations, bands pre game, and fg nets…….
June 19, 2009 at 5:46 am
let me tell yal….my opinion is the best…ive been playin both mmadden and ncaa for a long time now….so here it is….ncaa 2010 was pretty good…its realisitc….i just hope theres a difference with good o lineman n crap o lineman….then it will make me want to recruit good oline in dynasty….cuz lets be honest…last year…who cared about olineman….just run….but this year u can c that if ur o line suks….it would b difficult…especially since wen u get hit u throw sum crap passes …(which is awesome)
things to complain about would be the amount of times i saw this 1 tackle animation….where defender grabs him by shoulder pads n throws him….its a cool animation but not for every tackle….especially wen i see it in the trenches….n also id like to see field goals get alil bit harder…llike in the old madden where u had to get power n then meter went down and u had to get accuracy…dont know y they changed it…now its to easy…revolution helmet still looks horrible..makes tebow look retarded…
June 19, 2009 at 7:29 am
I agree about the accuracy for kicking. I never understood why they changed it, but oh well, they won't change it back because it's too easy.
June 19, 2009 at 5:46 am
but everyone this aint a final….so if ur gonna complain …complain about important things so maybe they fix em….dont complain about hemlets….it really aint a big deal to me..just though id point it out.. n dont complain bout flashy lights in the crowd….god it really aint big deal….n color shoes n gloves aint no biggy either…most players in college dont wear color shoes n gloves….for the most part ncaa is lookin good…but mainly because of online dynasty…was a big hit last year…n will b a big hit this year….wat they need to do is add slots…moree than 12….let it be where 30 players can join ur online dynasty….
June 19, 2009 at 7:16 am
ITS EXACTLY THE SAME AS NCAA 09!
June 19, 2009 at 9:30 am
FUCK NO!
June 19, 2009 at 7:27 am
I've been enjoying the demo with each game i've played, but there are a couple things that bother me. Ones not that bad, and is just the fact that the play screen can be delayed a second or so when switching between formations and/or being able to click A when moving up and down in formations. BUT the other is how the camera does not follow the ball to the receiver/defensive back. I don't know if my vision just sucks or what, but I can't tell where the ball's gonna end up until a split second before it actually does. I've let up a couple of bombs just b/c I misread the depth of the pass, and was either deep or short by about 5 yards.
June 19, 2009 at 7:27 am
Now that this demo has been released, theres no excuse for anyone to waste their money on this game and complain about it afterward. Its all out there. Try it out, and keep your copy of 09.
June 19, 2009 at 9:42 am
i dont c how u ppl can play the demo and say its terrible and to not buy it! its way better than madden and ncaa 09 by far. the fuckin duck throws themself make the game better than either 09'. the game doesnt seem as arcady as it usually is. and is it me or does the pass defense in real life college football suck????????? dont lie because it does. i also love how i have a reciever wide open but being anxious i hold the analog stick hard to the right or too far up and the throw is just off. thats realistic, and i also like how i only get a little time in the pocket before i get crushed. i just like realistic football and thats what i felt playing this game. the new tackle animations r great. and ive seen like three new hard hits that look extremely real. but for some reason i didnt get real qb pocket very often. that was kind of odd to me. but i love the demo. also i want madden to copy the way screen plays r exicuted in ncaa. screens r much more realistic in ncaa and have been for about three years.
June 19, 2009 at 10:52 am
This demo looks like atari graphics..WTF..Huge Disappointment..Looks just like last years..Identical
Definitely not worth another 60 bucks..I will stick with Madden only this year.!!
June 19, 2009 at 11:12 am
this game sucks
June 19, 2009 at 11:46 am
I absolutely hate this game!!! I'll still buy it though. LIke all you complainers.
June 19, 2009 at 2:29 pm
I liked playing it, and i'm gonna buy it no matter what, but i didn't see the improvements in blocking i was looking for. Yes, the pocket was better, but in terms of pancakes there weren't enough. Padre, do u know if easports has worked to fix the lack of in game pancakes leading to say a steve hutchinson finishing the season with 10 pancakes?
June 19, 2009 at 3:01 pm
I'm very interested in hearing why the PS3 graphics in the demo are noticably worse compared to NCAA 09. I even downloaded the 09 demo to compare with the final game from last year to see if the demo from last year had poor graphics compared to the final game. The graphics from the 09 demo appear to be identical with the 09 final release. Yes, I am playing on an HD TV with an HDMI connection.
It appears that for some reason, the PS3 has taken a major graphical hit in terms of player models, jersey textures and especially helmet appearance quality with regard to lighting / reflections. The OU helmet looks like a throwback from the PS2.
There are minor gameplay improvements, but with the very bad graphics, I will not pay $60 for a few gameplay tweaks and a chance to build a high school team online.
EA needs to clarify why the graphical quality is so poor. If these are the graphics that will be part of the final release, they should be embarrassed.
June 19, 2009 at 7:55 pm
I agree 100%. The graphics are worse. The players look too cartoony. The framerate is choppy also. Somebody please explain why EA has to sacrifice certain aspects of the game like framerate, sideline graphics, etc… in order to add other things like gameplay improvements? With all the power of these Next Gen systems that's unacceptable. Don't tell me it can't be done because MLB the Show 09 pulled it off. Is this the best EA can do?
June 19, 2009 at 3:30 pm
A lot of people are talking about it being too easy to complete passes, and I think we need to take into account that we have two of the best QBs in the game to play with. Bradford probably would have been the #1 pick in the draft last year, and some consider Tebow possibly the best college player ever. I won't claim "too easy' until my freshman QB with 64 THA is dominating
June 19, 2009 at 3:34 pm
this is just a tweaked ncaa 09 with $60 price tag
June 19, 2009 at 5:14 pm
great demo!
June 19, 2009 at 11:35 am
My impressions so far of the demo Is just ok. It plays and feels alot like NCAA 09 to me. I love that u can customize your uniforms though. However, maybe it’s the coach in me, but the swing down tackle is horrible!! Why??? That so against all defensive coaching. I also saw a horrible glitch where I was Florida and Sam Bradford was trying to scramble away. My D-Lineman had him but he skipped out. How come the animation continued to go and he got sacked and I wasn’t even holding him? Lol
June 19, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Did anybody notice or see that there was no EA Locker? Or maybe I just over looked it.
