The press releases that accompany cover announcements generally include a brief description of the game. For announcing Blake Griffin as the cover athlete of NCAA Basketball 10, EA Sports has included some details on what to expect this year. Nothing in the way of new modes have been revealed but it does present some of what has been worked on and enhanced for 10.
NCAA Basketball 10 brings the emotion, intensity, and spirit of college basketball by capturing every detail in the stadium, from cheerleaders and mascots to wild crowds and real NCAA Basketball announcers. NCAA Basketball 10 builds on a new game engine introduced last year, refining and improving core gameplay functions, and adding more depth to the popular ‘styles of play’ and ‘set your tempo’ features, making NCAA Basketball 10 a strategic and entirely unique basketball gameplay experience.
I’ve added the first two screenshots for NCAA Basketball 10 which feature Griffin. You can check them out along with the cover art in the screenshot gallery.

Pasta I heard 2k was trying to get the license back is there any truth to that?
June 24, 2009 at 2:46 pm
EA doesn't have an exclusive license to make college basketball games…it's just that 2K didn't have the funds in their budjet to pay for another license. It's looking good for next year though.
It'll be fun to play another college basketball game again. This insult to my existence isn't cutting it.
June 24, 2009 at 10:17 pm
I seriously hope so since lately EA basketball games have been so so trashy.
June 24, 2009 at 11:14 am
They're are going on the right track I just wanna see some better graphics in the coming of this game everything else that I'm hearing looks like that stadiums are going to be a big factor in this game.
June 24, 2009 at 11:59 am
yeah are these graphics serious??? they are awful. NBA jam for sega was better…
June 24, 2009 at 12:12 pm
Man Lets just all face it EA needs to call 2k and ask for help. their basketball games suck, period. Its a cross of street ball and arcade mode on steroids. horrible game play and graphics. For a company to be able to do so many game right they have no clue how to make a basketball game.
June 24, 2009 at 5:21 am
This whole game needs to be revamped. The gameplay is horrid. I can’t stand the way they take layups or shoot…..or awkwardly lean when they are runnin with the ball
June 24, 2009 at 12:48 pm
OMG…Stadium details, cheerleaders, mascots, wild crowds, announcers….here we go again with gimmicks. This is what makes EA so inept at what they do, they either have no desire to develop a real sim sports game or their developers are COD nerds who don't know sh** about sports in order to create a realistic game. They waste so much time on the cursory stuff and use it as a smokes screen to detract the consumers from the meat and potatoes.
I'm actually at the point that I wonder if we would be better off if EA would simply streamline their products and lose the college games along with maybe Tiger Woods Golf altogether. Ok, that was a cheap shot at golf, I admittedly don't play, but from what I here, they've been rehashing that game since 05 or something. Maybe the problem is EA having too many game titles and not enough qualified people to go around. They're already getting their asses kicked by NBA 2k; I don't see that changing anytime soon and I predict that NCAA 10 FB will tank. FN, Madden, NHL, & FIFA will be their only hits and all that really matter.
August 14, 2009 at 11:29 am
The NCAA games have been better than madden the past few years, and this year is no exception. Basketball games? Yes they are pretty terrible. But don't go assuming that the college football will be the same.
June 24, 2009 at 12:58 pm
This game is gonna be total garbage, Blake Griffin has gumby arms in those screen shots. Just terrible effort on the part of EA
June 24, 2009 at 2:15 pm
I actually think the gameplay is reasonable; I like the play calling / running scheme. But the player models are horrid. All the long, baggy shorts are stiff as a board resulting in the guys looking like a bunch of Gumby's running around. (Seeing as how the player who is supposed to be Tyler Hansbrough looks like Brian Bosworth, I don't think EA has too much to worry about with the Sam Keller lawsuit.)

First of all, not all the graphics for EA Basketball Games suck. I think the Graphics for Live are waay better the the ones for 2k. I think that is actually a good looking model of Blake Griffin, u can get a lot worse then that. I do agree that the Games do need help as far as gameplay but don’t throw the entire game under the bus and say even the Graphics are horrible. Well not for Live anyway cause the NCAA Graphics were uuggllyy..

EA's NCAA title blow away 2K in graphics, but gameplay needs work and last year was a step in the right direction. I am a huge college basketball fan and will be doing rosters once again this year for this game. Last year a group of us worked on the rosters over at OS. If EA improves on gameplay I will be happy and of course Online Dynasty.

SMH at this update of a basketball game… Trash, absolute trash… Nobody cares about this game
June 24, 2009 at 3:47 pm
Pasta, I guess you are not a boxing fan. Because FNR4 is out and you haven't mentioned one word on the game. I thought this site was supposed to be about sports games coming out? I guess I was wrong…
June 24, 2009 at 8:29 pm

June 25, 2009 at 4:05 am
FNR4 doesn't come out until tomorrow.

June 24, 2009 at 4:22 pm
Is exporting/importing rosters back?
June 25, 2009 at 1:25 am
I think i herd that you will be able to import draft classes this year into live.
June 25, 2009 at 2:06 am
Hope so, but I don't know if they've said either way. Too early for info.
June 24, 2009 at 8:15 pm
2K, Where are you
June 24, 2009 at 3:08 pm
The features they say they're working on all sound good. I don't know why the tempo thing got so much heat last year because it is an important part of the game.
However, I do agree it's gonna take a lot of work to make this a good game. I think last year was kind of an attempt to redo the whole thing and that obviously didn't work out. Hopefully they found a way to build off of it and improve this year's game.
June 25, 2009 at 5:00 am
none of it matters if all freshman not in top 100 have the same ratings
June 25, 2009 at 6:55 am

Hello folks, I'm a HUGE college basketball fan and season ticket holder of the Providence Friars(since 1989). I'm not a big video gamer and just like to play sports games here and there. Nothing was better then the 2K game that came out with all the real names, and stats. From what I'm reading this game sounds like it's not worth buying. Maybe I'll rent it first to see if it's decent. My question to all you hard core gamers is will this NCAA 10 offer the same real name+ stat feature ? I also remember my brother updating the rosters on the Internet will this happen with this game ? If not is there any news of a great college basketball game coming out ? I heard 2K stopped because it didn't sell enough. I'd appreciate some feed back, you can email me at davedom1988@yahoo.com. Thanks Joe
