P.S. Why is the spurs jersey so gray? I feel like it should be as black as goodens arm band. 2k9 had the same issue with certain teams' black uniforms

Looks okay. I still think the lighting is way off. 2K Courts look great compared to Live. I was a big fan of Live when there was no real competition, but once 2K hit the market it was over for Live.

Looks improved from last year. Still looks too cartoony though. I'll hold off judgement until it comes out but I don't have high expectations for Live. If they nail the gameplay (which I doubt they will) then I'll live with cartoony graphics.

Hearing all of these people comparing NBA Live to NBA 2K just makes me wanna LMAO! It's like comparing getting stabbed to getting shot, both hurt and both can be fatal. The truth is NBA Live sucks and NBA 2K suck just as much they both came in 2nd in a 2 man race whoopie! It is beyond me that a decade ago basketball video games where the best out of the sports bunch now after 15 years of mediocre BS they still can't get it together.

Madden has made significant strides, NHL has made a huge comeback, FIFA is the world's fav sport and has a great game, MLB the Show might just be the best game period on any console and then you have that sorry excuse for a game called NBA LIve. It's not even fun. When you play FIFA or NHL teamplay most people stay for the whole duration. When you play NBA Live everybody quits mid-game as the controls are a joke. How is it that we still don't have decent rebounding in a game? Why in 2K u have that retarded meter for every shot? Both games r weak and you know what the worse part is? That because their is no other competition they will use these weak game engines for the next 3-4 years. Yall have fun playing that weak excuse for a game Live and 2K, I'll be hitting the courts taking out my frustration on the kids in the park.

Not impressed. In a video game player models are very important. If I was a game developer, the 1st thing I will get right is the player models because that's the first thing people see. Its hard to look at other positives if the player models are not appealing to the eye. I guess they still don't understand that concept even today.

Player models have been an issue, in terms of player body types. Most players were too skinny and too cut. Every year felt like a progression in terms of player faces except for NBA Live 09. They weren't necessarily bad, but didn't feel like a step forward for Live 09.

Jeanne Buss was recently on "The Herd" with Colin Cowherd and she made mention of such. The lakers tend to keep the stands more dark than other arenas bringing the focus on the court.

btw tony parker looks pretty good, this game is not horrible, its just that they have some work to do gameplay wise before they get even close to 2k.

What i'd like to have some one explain is why EA tends to take things out of the game like the ability to raise your players arms for shot or pass interference. Isn't that a fundamental you learn playing basketball as a kid. I thought part of the selling point for nextgen was the ability to add much more information on disc but instead they just seem to keep making things pretty visually but leaving out even the basics. what's the point of taking features away? What I want is authenticity in gameplay as well as appearance.

I'm sure you will get into it soon, but in the mean time, you're not going to win anyone over with the whole "wait and see thing". Until they see it, they won't believe it. Totally. We know where it counts this year. As for the Spurs jersey, it's the lighting on the jersey making it look "grey," but we'll lighten the sleeve a bit because know accessory should be pitch black like that. That's just a bad image.

I think people would be more satisfied to see a darker jersey vice a lightened sleeve. Could you guys compromise? Lighter sleeve and darker jersey….meet half way? Pat get off rocks. Any review or critic you will read will tell you about the realism of the players models and faces on 2k. Live seems to base player models on the cover boy of the game. maybe that will explain all the malnourished players they had last years version of live.

I agree with making the jersey darker. One of my biggest pet peeves with NBA 2k9 is that the Spurs black jersey's and Bulls black jersey's look grayish black. It doesnt look right, especially when next to the actual black color of the wristband, elbow pads, etc…

I get the whole lighting thing and the fact that you're going for realism, but in all honesty it looks the opposite of authentic and would look much more realistic if the Spurs jersey didnt looked washed out in lighting for 95% of the game. Plus thats not what they looked like on my tv during the playoffs or in that picture of the Spurs that i believe some posted earlier.

The players models already look a lot better then they did last year. kudos.

Its good to see you really diving into the community stephensonmc. It has really changed my perception of EA's approach. I can imagine how difficult it is to take heavy criticism from fans that may not know much about the creation process, ecpecially while your invovled in that process on a day to day basis. Much Props

there is a drastic difference in those two screens, 2k is by far ahead in graphics as of nba 2k9.

Just compare them closely and unless you are blind, you can notice that 2k is far ahead of live 09 in graphics. If you put them both side to side on a 1080p HDTV, and asked someone which one looks more like TV, They would say 2k9 by a landslide.

Figured that would be the reason. 2K9 and LIVE 09 are games of the past, and we agree that LIVE 09 wasn't up to snuff from an all-around perspective. With that said, we've made some major improvements with NBA LIVE 10 that I think you guys will be pleased with.

i played all LIVE games and it's really sad that each version has some of the same old animations.You must understand that your game ,until now,is WEAK and you can't fool all the people all the time.We don't need improvements.We need a new game.BUILT a new game from scratch.That would be awesome…

Watch this though 2k has a almost complete max out graphics and almost max out gameplay and soon 2 be max out presentation its the little things that 2k is fooling around with rotation, glitches, morphing etc. Yeah its just the same game but they done got the basic aspects of a basketball game down pack. But for live, there messing up on the key part of basketball, the gameplay and when you mean live fixes the game, that doesn't completely makes them good it makes there game product same bad with all those problems that should of almost been fix since they start fixing it. One more thing i'm not a 2k or live fanboy i research and decide the best bball game.
I'm pulling for nba live 10 still.
