Will You Be Purchasing Draft Combine?

NBA 2K10: Draft Combine releases this Wednesday for the 360 and on September 3rd for the PS3 with a price of $5/400 MS points. Essentially a jump-start on the “My Player” career mode it allows for player creation and the running through of drills and scrimmages. In doing so the player can increase the chances of being drafted by improving attributes. This could also be viewed as a quasi-demo considering NBA 2K10 is still six weeks from releasing and allows for an opportunity to get an early feel for what the game has to offer this year.

The best thing out of this is just like every downloadable game it is required to offer a free trial. So there will at least be the chance to sample it in abbreviated form though any progress made with a player would not be saved or transferable to NBA 2K10.

There has been a good deal of discussion around whether this type of content provides the value to make it a separate entity instead of including it in the game. Vote in the poll below on if you plan to purchase Draft Combine and leave your thoughts in the comments!

I want to buy it but I live in Europe and 2K don't care about us.

Apparently Hong Kong, Singapore, India and Taiwan are all bigger markets because its being released there.

The question should have been Vote in the poll below on if you plan to purchase NBA 2k10/ NBA Live 10 and the Draft Combine and leave your thoughts in the comments!

The reason for that being is that some voters are not gonna purchase a basketball game at all and just voted for the heck of it, or they might not purchase the full retail version of neither game so there is no point in buying the Draft Combine both of the scenarios yield people voting "no."

I think alot of people are going to wait until they get some feed back. Its only 5 dollars so, its not a huge investment by any means.

For people saying it should be free, why? We get downloadable content all the time in games like Grand Theft Auto, Map packs for FPS shooters, Fallout 3, ect ect. They just did this one before.

The problem is if we keep buying things like this, features that should be in the game already, soon we will be paying upwards of $100 for a single game in order to get all of the features.

This micro transaction thing is killing the industry. We need to stop it now before it gets much worse. Don't buy this extra stuff!

All you vaginas complaining about paying for downloadable content add ons are really gonna shit yourself when EA decides to make you payfor Dynamic DNA next year. DLC is inevitable as there is profit to be made and guess whats corporations like……PROFIT

I'm all for pre release DLC, in fact I think its a great move considering it offers a glimpse into that years product.

And lastly, to all of you EA kool aid drinkers….. I hope you enjoy Live 10 as it looks to be better then 09 (which isnt saying much.)

There's a 5 minute walkthrough video of the 2K10 Draft Combine on the Konsole Kingz website.

The combine looks pretty good. It shows all the front end screens and setup for your character. Looks like you start off with a really low rating, like 42 and they show of the games and training your have to do to build up your character.

Not sure why you would pay money to build up a "Create-A-Player"???
