Latest EA MMA Signing

With the building promotion of the upcoming EA MMA (which is aiming for a release next summer) the roster continues to be the early focus. Without access to the UFC license that has left EA Sports to sign fighters individually and from a pool limited to those not under contract with UFC at the time of attempted signing. The newest addition to the list is Jason “Mayhem” Miller who confirmed his association with the game in an interview with Bloody Elbow. Below is the updated full list of fighters either officially announced by EA or confirmed by statements from the fighters themselves.

Jason Miller has had a beef with the UFC for a long time so his signing comes as no surprise. I would not consider him a big signing at all though. I just hope that they have a "Bully Beatdown" mini game so I can create a PastaPadre character to get his ass kicked!

All this EA MMA stuff is shaping up to be similar to what 2K did for All-Pro Football……except like in typical EA fashion they always give all the latest news and updates and trying to get as much attention for the game as possible.

They also have King Mo Lawal in there who is a rising star in mma. I wish they would have legends of the sport also something THQ didn't do.

I think it's hilarious that EA didn't want to have anything to do with MMA. Now they are trying to get in the game by signing all these crap fighters or UFC re-treads. For the sake of having another good MMA game, I hope this game is good though.

They better get Kazushi Sakuraba, Hayato Sakurai, Akira Maeda, Xavier Foupa-Mokam, Allistair Overeem, Ryo Chonan, Rusty Hand, Kevin Randleman, & Brett Rogers in there. I think all those guys would be great fits. I kinda doubt this game will have a lightweight division though.
