Wanting to get up a video displaying a full playoff game, I figured what better one to go for than game seven of the NBA Finals. The sim had the Blazers knotted up at 3-3 with the Celtics with the deciding game being played in Portland. This was played on All Star difficulty and is definitely the most entertaining from start to finish of any of the videos that I have posted to date.
Continue on to check out the game stats and the video of the entire game broken down by quarter. As always leave your thoughts in the comments!

Well i think that all these "2k fans" are disappointed at how the game has turned out this year so they don't want to believe what they are seeing and start bashing live to let their anger out. I really think live is stride for stride w/ 2k and based off of the demo live is ahead of 2k right now. I think this will be the first year that i don't buy 2 bball games and just stick with live. It just feel more realistic and 2k still doesn't give the player enough control b/c of all the animations that they have. Don't get me wrong they have good animations but i hate that i can't really control what i do and im constantly cussing at the game.

I totally agree. If your a SIm gamer..Live seems like it will be the way to go. I Preordered mine and can't wait to pick it up. I'm spending a bit too much time on the Demo. I think I will have the Magics playbook memorized…lol. The controls in Live are killer, the Lakers play like the Lakers, and the Magic play like themselves too. I don't get that from 2K…never did. EA has pulled a upset.
October 1, 2009 at 3:43 am
Live 10 more realistic? You rode the short bus.
September 30, 2009 at 1:44 am
yo wheres the trophy patch on the jersey? fail
September 30, 2009 at 1:51 am
I bought 2K the past 3 years, so I'm kinda drawn to it. I keep checking the vids and playing the demo. Each time I watch a vid, or play the Demo…it's like I say to myself 2K sure did have a great run. I thought the Live demo was okay, until I played it over and over and stopped playing it like it was 2K and I just saw how great it is. I'll be playing Live this year. I might Game Fly 2K just for the heck of it. Other than that……it's more of the same. People are saying "Oh Live made improvements so yall are saying its okay now"….I'm not saying it's okay. I'm saying it's better than 2K in the gameplay department. Period. 2K is not sim. Live 10 is. I'm not talking the past. ….I'm talking about Live 10.
September 30, 2009 at 2:29 am
i agree..live 10 plays way better than 2k10 and i also think it is more sim…you know so many people are gonna say 2k has been better since they came out and thats all they can say "since they been out" but now in the present live10 is better than 2k10.

Feel the same.
I am not only comparing to 2K, I bought Madden10, NHL10 and FIFA10.
And every evening I end up playing…Live10 Demo!
September 30, 2009 at 2:07 am
I'm a huge NBA 2K fan but I have to admit I didn't like the demo that much. I don't like how slow the game felt especially the passing. The one thing that Live has the advantage over 2K in is the controls (especially dribbling). I hate isomotion & I wish 2K would get rid of it & use the right stick for dribbling. Now 2K kills Live when it comes to animations & presentation but Live gets the edge in controls. So for this reason alone I will be buying both games come October 6th which also happens to be my birthday! Already have the day off work so I can play all day!
September 30, 2009 at 2:17 am
@ Josh. I agree but you can change the controls to alternate b, and they'll be just like LIVE but better because you'll still have "y" for hopstep. P.S. I've been a LIVE fan for about 12yrs now, but 2K will get my dollar this year.
September 30, 2009 at 3:30 am
Yea you're right. I wish 2K would give us more options in their demos. Last years demo was just like this years. They should at least let us change the controls & camera angles.
September 30, 2009 at 2:51 am
nba live wins this year
September 30, 2009 at 3:08 am
Funny thing is 2K will still be the #1 rated basketball sim according to metacritic and Sales will also reflect this. Kobe's on the cover of 2K and EA is supposed to compete with 2K's reputation and Kobe? Not likely. Nice try.
September 30, 2009 at 7:20 am
yeah Kobe has a great reputation for being on great basketball games (LOL SONY NBA)
September 30, 2009 at 3:18 am
Man the gameplay looks nice but where is the intensity, Boring
September 30, 2009 at 11:14 am
That was my feeling when I played the demo.
Boring.
September 30, 2009 at 3:27 am
im getting 010 from ea sports
September 30, 2009 at 3:31 am
Pasta Celtics @ Blazers (best record) Game 7, damn', do yourself a favor and don't place any bets this year or do any top 10 lists.
.
September 30, 2009 at 4:50 am
Played the 2K10 demo.
Great presentation but it's pretty much a mess after that. Waiting on the refs to give the ball up is ridiculous. Animations are jerky in my opinion not nearly as fluid as live in terms of branching out of them.
But it's sure to be a solid game for those who love 2K9.
September 30, 2009 at 5:05 am
weak offering as a demo. 1 quarter? no options in the pause menu? plays the sameas 2k9
September 30, 2009 at 5:37 am
What's up Pastapadre? It's turftickler from the Backbreaker forums. I just wanted to say thank you for the videos, first off.
Second, it looks like 2k Sports fell back a few years in the gameplay, but the graphics are the best ever. I have played the Live 10 demo and the 2k10 demo now and I have to say that I actually am disgusted with the 2k10 gameplay. I also have hated the Live series since 2k started making Basketball games.
I will catch you on twitter.
Later
September 30, 2009 at 7:09 am
how are you sure that the online ranked games will be played on default sliders last year in 2k9 after the first patch they tuned the sliders to create a more realistic experience for ranked games just because you cant edit them yourself doesnt mean 2k sports didnt edit them through the servers
September 30, 2009 at 7:23 am
so you think that 2k is not going to have what they determined the best offline slider arrangements used online? that makes no sense. maybe they adjust them after release when enough people complain
September 30, 2009 at 7:27 am
Haha so that is the great celebration that 2K promised this year? why do people let them get away with lies year after year. now that theyve hit a wall with improving the game i guess people are noticing more
September 30, 2009 at 8:27 am
can i trust someone's opinion when i know he thinks live09 is better than 2k9?Can you really depend on him to be objective? Just one question pasta…
September 30, 2009 at 3:38 pm
I never said either game was "better" than the other. Each had their own strengths and weaknesses.
September 30, 2009 at 8:34 am
i think both games are really good if you play them right and use their specific gameplay controls and nuances to the maximum. There is a nice sense of competion right now , let's not ruin it with senseless childish remarks…To all who read this, please read my previous post and tell me if i'm right…
September 30, 2009 at 10:39 am
It's always awesome when the final team rebound totals for both teams are in the single-digits. Can't wait for Live.
September 30, 2009 at 10:46 am
just finished watching the vids….I think I threw up in my mouth a little. This game is more overrated than the Auburn team with Chris Morris that was ranked preseason #1 by SI.
September 30, 2009 at 11:18 am
Where is the excitement and intensity?
September 30, 2009 at 11:28 am
field goal stats look ridiculous especially for the NBA Finals
September 30, 2009 at 1:55 pm
What a lame game.. same old feeling.. NBA Live plays way better and looks better…. the Staples Center in the demo looks like crap, It isn't lit up like that in the stands? It's darker where the crowd is due to the lighting. NBA Live for fun this year. 2k looks the same
September 30, 2009 at 2:30 pm
I didn't even watch the videos, instead I decided to read a few comments first. Is it really true that this guy actually posted the finals, celebration and all? If so who does that? Wheres the nba live 10 finals celebration? I have no clue who this pasta guy is but it obviously seems like he's trying to ruin the fun factor for 2k fans. I mean no spoiler alert are nothing? WTF is up with dat? Some people play through the association mode just to get to the celebration. If you're a fan of either bball game you would know this is wrong, and some of you live fans would definately be upset if this were your game. Anyways, glad I didn't watch, first (& last) visit to the site and It already seems biased.
September 30, 2009 at 3:41 pm
pretty sure anyone who watches the fourth quarter of game 7 finals is gonna know the celebration is at the end lol. and trust me nothing spoiled since its pretty much the same as last year
September 30, 2009 at 2:36 pm
You can do leaners in 2K you have to move the shot stick away from the basket while driving to the hoop
September 30, 2009 at 4:08 pm
Pasta Take That Shit Off Easy And Stop Trying To Make The Game Look Bad. 2K10 Or No 10
October 1, 2009 at 1:44 am
I know right, if he played on HOF or even Superstar i cld take this more seriously.
October 1, 2009 at 6:58 am
i know the games lack so much intensity when you play on those easy ass settings
September 30, 2009 at 4:25 pm
NBA2k9.5-10 – Terrible slow passing, not enough control of the players dribble, all day hook shots in the paint, if you shoot while driving you have to come to a complete stop and reset for your jumpshot animation. Court spacing still not good (although better). No collision detection while driving the lane. Its almost 100% chances if you get into the paint u will score.
I loved 2k7,2k8 but after that this series started going downhill. Seems to me they are getting lazy and are not doing much to fix/make their games better.
A true sim basketball fan would see that although the animations are not on point like 2k's, but that NBA Live 10 plays a better game of basketball. 2k's prettyness is not shining enough for me anymore to cover up there weak gameplay.
October 4, 2009 at 8:15 am
I AGREE. Give this man a medal. I've been saying the same thing since after 2k7.
September 30, 2009 at 4:48 pm
very good video..
September 30, 2009 at 11:08 am
Just played the demo, I don’t know, I think live is better this year. But it doesn’t matter I work at bestbuy, so I can just get em both for free LOL
September 30, 2009 at 11:40 pm
2K9.5 2k9.5 2k9.5 YEAHHHHHHHHHHHH…..I Had this GAME SINCE 08…this shit is off the hook …oh shit i have to download the roster I almost forgot ………hahahahahahahahahahaha
September 30, 2009 at 11:52 pm
Same here, I'll be getting both copys for free. Although I still think, well actually I'm pretty sure 2k outsells live again this year, hands down. No 2k vs EA here, with both games on both systems, who cares who wins, I'm good to go. Peace!
October 1, 2009 at 4:29 am
nobody noticed the trailblazer emblem over the trophy? is that supposed to be like that or am i missing something?
October 1, 2009 at 6:59 am
yea thats how it is in real life
October 1, 2009 at 1:09 pm
your right lol it just looks so ugly because it's the blazers logo over it
October 1, 2009 at 6:53 am
It May be a Coincidence but it seems like the players on my friends list who like nba live never played basketball in college, highschool etc …. But the players who play 2k played regulation ball. When people tell me 2k is fake, i just shake my head because i know they just dont really understand how to call plays and play the actual game of basketball sorry live is arcade bball
October 1, 2009 at 9:15 am
OK, now we know that.
October 2, 2009 at 7:23 am
Ofcourse your a live fan
October 1, 2009 at 6:56 am
its not about the crossovers, fade away 3 pointers and dunks. all that stuff comes to you when you work the ball around create fast break opportunities etc…. buckle down and just play bball
October 1, 2009 at 8:01 am
Hi mr Padre
Nive videos. What is the type of card you use to capture the video from your console? Thanks. Calmjay 23 from http://www.frenchnba.com
October 1, 2009 at 11:54 am
hi, Guys
On live 10 can u change camera angles?
October 1, 2009 at 11:58 am
Yes
October 1, 2009 at 2:43 pm
There's no defense in these videos. And as for the comment by @keem513, that's pure BS about this game being like regulation ball. I played regulation ball (high schoo and JC), video games are no comparison, so leave that BS at home!!. Live in the past was just a sucky game, it didnt compare to good basketball video games, much less real basketball. Your friends who played regulation basketball must have been hall of Famers of offense, because there's no Defense on these 2K videos. 2K may still be a better game, but after playing the demos, Live is closing the gap
October 2, 2009 at 7:43 am
2k has defense get online and ill lock you up, its just not a game your going to pick right up and be effective, pluswhen in that last post did i compare 2k to real life, i said players that played regulation ball on my freinds tend to like 2k and the casual dudes play live, thats a fact and not up for debate, but like i said if you got ps3 my online name is Cinti513 and i will shut your offense down guaranteed
October 2, 2009 at 1:25 am
eventhou the game is ok my problem was way aint rasheed in the game in the 4th quater with them wallace would be in the game as well plus they dont miss in the game man is fake but the game is ok but LIVE is the truth
October 2, 2009 at 7:45 am
and the reason there is no defense is because he is playing on a easy setting
October 3, 2009 at 6:57 am
First Of All, Who plays NBA 2k on All-Star, everyone that is true 2k fans play on the hardest level on the game which is Hall of FAme, All-Star is like playing one step above Pro in which if u play on easy the game is gonna be easy and yes they are gonna shoot a 100%. Secondly live has improved a lot graphically and atmosphere wise. So i guess if u play the game because you care what the crowd sounds like then more power to you. But as far as gameplay, player movement, and graphics, 2k owns live PERIOD!!…All the moves on Live look choppy, it looks like the ball is connected to the palm of their hand when their dribbling, they dont move realistically at all. 2k has taken the time to customize every aspect of the game. What other game do you know that customizes the gameplay of every player so that they actually play like themselves? Live only does superstars
October 3, 2009 at 8:28 am
how can u say comentary is better they talkin about what shot they should shoot after the shot had already missed. i like the talk whrn someone does a dunk and stuff but the timeing was off on the last video.. still going to get game though but i think will have more substance and one more thing for all people that say live is cartoonish what are u looking at 2k looks just the same with less sweat on the players live is outting out patch when game drops to fix that.
October 5, 2009 at 7:22 pm
i think 2k9 needs to upgrade a little bit more but they still way better than live. live looks to fake i mean like whats the point of the stadium and crowd looking real if the players dont lokk real.
