Last year Slumdog Millionaire came out of the Telluride Movie Festival with buzz behind it that continued through release and eventually led all the way to a Best Picture win at the Academy Awards. 2009′s film that could be on the same track is Up in the Air. Based on the book of the same name it stars George Clooney as a corporate downsizer that spends the majority of his life traveling. Clooney appears to be positioned for at least a nomination for Best Actor and could be a serious contender to win it for the role.

After having been pushed forward from a December release date to November 13th due to the acclaim it was receiving, it has now been moved back into December rolling out in limited release on December 4th and expanding wide on Christmas Day. Consideration had to be made to two other Clooney led films coming out in November. He also stars in The Men Who Stare at Goats (November 6th) and voices the lead in the stop-motion animated The Fantastic Mr. Fox (Thanksgiving).

There are 3 supposed release dates for this movie. So why? Dec 4-limited, Dec 11, then Dec 25 wide finally. Why are they releasing this over a three weekend period. Wow , I personally didn't think it was that great of a movie. We saw it on vacation at the festival and neither my husband nor I cared for it. Same type of George Clooney type movie. We had also seen the Informant on the advice of you critics and it was also terrible, boring and non-amusing. Just ridiculous. George Clooney Executive Produced it. Everthing is just a little too much Oceans and Burn after Reading with him lately. I have heard that his Staring at Goats movie is also looking pretty boring and non-amusing as well. You can have just too much George Clooney. Actually that is 4 movies back to back. I'm already tired of him and we've seen only the two.

How about Burn After Reading, that was as an amusing a movie as you are going to get.

Yeah I definately enjoyed Burn After Reading, and this movie looks as though itll have a pretty good amount of "depth" to it. Maybe theyre just not your type of movie Anna…
